Fortunately the Polges have created some of the fragrances I love, so I won't be out of sync tomorrow. I'll decided in the morning which to wear of Egoiste, Beige, Coromandel and Cuir Beluga.

yes I do seem to sniff vanilla in most of them. Ah well, that's why we need so many perfumes! There's always something which doesn't agree to somebody!

I will check out voile d'Éte and Eau sous le vent, thank you.

For Jaques, I can do Soir de Paris, I may have a sample of 31 rue Cambon, Coco, Rive Gauche
For Olivier, I can do Balenciaga, possibly a sample of Cuir Beluga, Jill Sander

They are so prolific between them, that there is so much to choose from.

Mulling over these possibilities tommorow: Jacques: No. 5 Eau Première or No. 19 Poudré; or by Olivier: Bulgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Rouge OR Cacharel Liberté. I have some other decants by Père, but I’m not sure. These four appeal the most at the moment. Beige is very nice. I really like that one, but I don’t have any.

Hmmm, it will have to be the #19 poudré, I still have a sample from NOLA.

It is really a very nice scent, light and more flowery, less harsh. And today it's overcast and a greay sky, this fits perfectly to cheer me up. I wonder if I don't need a bottle of this.....

I synched in Chance Eau Tendre. Not much love for this on BN, but it's a fine spring/summer frag IMHO. And I thought the exclusifs would be very well represented in this synch without my input ... which I am sure they were, despite the downtime!

The Voile D'Ete and Meteorites are satisfying my violet/raspberry craving. Not my usual style but lovely and sunny without being "sun tan lotiony". Sort of makes me go nom nom nom, like I've just eaten a delicious sweet confection without it being a heavy gourmand. Very good work. Why ever was it discontinued. The bottle is to die for too!

Leather tomorrow eh? Perfect timing for me to wear Cuir de Russie from the sample kindly given by Gandhajala

OK. I am on!! Well girls, and Gabe. Up until very recently I would have probably chosen Cuir De Lancome for a Leather synch. It is soft, supple and comfortable. Really lovely. OR, I could have been tempted to be a bit extravagant and treat myself to Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather, which I am sure that I will do at some stage. But I also have a strong preference for Iris/Leather and Leather/Iris fragrances, so I may have dug inot my samples of Cuir De Russie, or Cuir D'Iris.

BUT AHA! Today I am wearing something really special, Xerjoff 1717 Homme. An Iris Leather recommended by the gorgeous and extraordinarily talented Darvant. I have a sample sent to me by a lovely Basenotes friend from Idaho. Thank You so much Orgoglio! Oh my! It is glorious. Nuff said.

PS: Some of the guys describe this as really butch. Well I am not butch. I don't find it so, at least not on a woman. It is lush and plush and sensuous. Glorious.

Liking Cuir Ottoman today. More of a leather bound book than a soft leather bag to my nose in the opening. Not a rough leather at all though. Really nice, smooth iris drydown. Almost at the end of my sample - may have to get me a FB of this.

Oh what a shame Frou Frou. I find it soft rather than sweet, but yes it it sweeter than many other leathers, isn't it?

Devilcat, the Cuir Ottoman is the one that I wanted to love, and it is great. On paper it so beautiful but but there is a strangely plastic note when I wear it, unfortunately. Donna, fantastic choice, and the girls in Kelly Caleche, gorgeous. I love this weeks synch!

Maitre Parfumer et Gantier- Cuir Fetiche

I'm wearing this for leather synch day. It starts out leathery and somewhat floral-powdery with the ylang-ylang jumping forward. The initial leather wears off after a bit and the ylang-ylang really hangs on. It definitely has a powdery accord. Maybe not suitable if you prefer a more butch leather approach. This is the opposite of Mona di Orio's, Les Nombres d'Or - Cuir, for instance.

I might try to find something which reminds me of other aromas or places from my past. Hmmm...

I may dig out my very precious drop of Houbigant Patchouli oil. Just one sniff whisks me straight back to the 70's in Carnaby Street, all afghan coats, primrose yellow bellbottom jeans, frayed at the bottoms, bare footed, long cheesecloth bellbottom sleeved tops with embroidered circular mirrors around the edge, long flowing hair right down the thighs in a long golden curtain, yellow canvas hat with smiley badges all over it.... I'm just going to be mellow, man!

Patchouli .... delicious, floral, green and earthy, and not harsh at all after all these years mellowing.

L'Air du Temps. Not the first 'real' perfume I bought (that was Fleur de Fleurs more years back than I care to remember...) but the second. Have had a soft spot for Nina Ricci ever since. This is some vintage edt from the 80s that I picked up very cheaply on the 'bay. May spritz some Anais Anais later - I didn't wear that as a teen, but many of my friends did and when I smell it I'm reminded of them and some very fun times.

    Hey y'all -

I'm in Perry Ellis for women, the original from 1985. Does anyone remember this? He's had so many fragrances since then, but this is the only one I know (I've had the same bottle since I was 16!) so when I hear anything about Perry Ellis fragrances (which isn't very often around here anyway) this is the one I think of, although the perfume in question is probably one of the various versions of 360° that I see everywhere and have yet to sniff. At any rate, I love this and I'm going to move it from the back of the shelf (metaphorically - it's gotta stay in the back since it's so tall, lol) so I'll remember to reach for it more frequently. Good sync!

Science is not only compatible with spirituality, it is a profound source of spirituality. When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages, when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling, that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual. ..Carl Sagan

I'm lucky to possess 2 blasts from my pasts, in the vintage form I knew them in, thanks to fantastic BNers!

The weather made my choice for me; it's stinking hot here so it had to be Sand & Sable by Coty. I grew up near two reservoirs with beaches for swimming and wore this to work my job at the food concessions stand at one of them. There were other smells to consider: suntan lotion, hot dogs, nachos, warm smelly bodies out in the sun all day. Sand & Sable not only seemed to fit in but rose above some of the less pleasant smells. And it remains just about the only "Big White Floral" that wears well on me. Have avoided new bottles out of mortal terror- I used to love Emeraude, too and I already know how brutal Coty was to that one.

Would have gone with Revlon's Moon Drops if it were cooler- that's a lovely for another time!

When I decided on a date for the Mediterranean travel theme I was expecting a nice, warm May, perfectly suitable for a "mediterranean" scent. Well, with some luck the thermometer might reach 15 deg C tomorrow and it will be once again a windy day. As usual, I'll decide tomorrow morning what to wear - I am thinking now of a jasmine or orange blossom scent.

For tomorrow's synch I'm concidering both Roma ( got a sample), Philosykos (another sample) or maybe Razala by Ayala Moriel since she grew up in Israel ( which is concidered to be among the Mediterranean countries, right?) Crystal Noir by Versace is another possibility for me

I am strangely enough thinking of Mitsouko, with the peach note... somehow it reminds me of summers in Spain.
