Default Maximizing Projection and Longevity from a Fragrance

Does anyone have any tips? I find I get only decent mileage out of some frags that are supposedly atomic bombs of projection (YSL Opium EDP, Dior Homme Intense, and Vintage YSL M7).

As has been mentioned before, sometimes applying an unscented lotion prior to applying the fragrance might help in those to areas.

Huh, interesting. For some reason I'd never thought of that, figured it'd change characteristics of the fragrance if it's applied with another product on the skin... thanks!

Just make sure it's really unscented. That probably helps a bit. Spraying on clothes helps a lot too.

Be careful...it is very easy to suffer form scent burnout aka olfactory fatigue. More specifically, maybe you can't smell it but everyone else can. Very common. I don't know if we asked other people around you that they wouldn't say they could still smell those Scent's when you could not. Your nose tunes them out.

Agree with Hedonist. No point complaining about longevity if you adopt the 'single spray to the chest' rule indiscriminately. Also spray your shirt a couple of times. I have found that matching deo sticks prolong longevity (at least for Guerlain and Chanel frags). Put a bit on the chest.

Trying out the unscented lotion approach today and maybe will spray on some clothes for a dinner party tonight. Thanks guys, much appreciated!

I came across the fragrant free lotion tip a few months back. The explanation of doing so was that on bare skin, the pores will absorb the fragrance and natural body moisture will affect the longevity and sillage. However, the lotion acts as a barrier and the fragrance sits on top. Also picked up that its vital not to 'rub' the fragrance in (not something that I did anyway) and as I'm sure most of you will already know, hit the pulse points!

Anyway, I tried the lotion trick, opted for a Simple moisturiser (fragrant and colour free) and I gotta say, my Dior Homme Intense did seem to last longer that day

I am having this problem myself, tried the lotion, didn't seem to help. Now I have just increased my sprays. I wore three this week still not noticed will try 4.

Been wondering this myself as everything I sample lately instantly disappears into my skin - yes even TFTV! I guess the best thing is find a formulation that just stays on your skin.
