What do you think is underrated?
For me, it's Cravache by Robert Piguet.

Calè Fragranze D'Autore
Etat Libre D'Orange
Cuir Pleine Fleur
Carthusia 1681
Lauder For Men
Parfumerie Generale
IMO M Micallef
L'homme Sage
Some of my underrated favorites (mass-market, designer and niche not differentiated/separated) are:
YSL pour Homme
Versace l'Homme
Face a Face by Faconnable
Chevignon Brand
Joint by Roccobarocco
La Martina Hombre
Francesco Smalto pour Homme
Aramis Tuscany
Sandalwood by Crabtree&Evelyn
Carthusia Uomo
Jaguar for Men
Knize Forest
... and many more
Hmm - I don't think it makes sense to declare a fragrance underrated. An overrating is easy to flesh out. For instance the LUTENS line has become overrated alone by being too proliferate. The frequency by which new scents are sort of "generated" is a contradiction to the lines image to be idealistic / elite / artisan / artistic. CREED is as mainstream as Disney with obviously literally exclusive prices - which eager persons wish to circumvent, only to find themselves disapointed eventually - and not so much more.
When it comes to underrating You most probably will find a much longer list of fragrances. Everyone will have a scent that appeals to her for very personal reasons. This will give rise to the idea it should be more respected by others. I easily could name a few.
For instance Givenchy - Insense (not ultramarine): marvelous for technical perfection and too because it fits a certain desire. To result in a gentle alloy with male body odor makes it just a very pleasant accessory. I do rate it way above any (literally) "niche".
Alas, in consequence of me hyping it prices in Europe exploded in the last months, but I've stacked up before 8-]

Bleu de Chanel.
It gets bashed a lot here, but people don't judge it for what it is.
I think it does, technically, you can declare pretty much anything underrated. I can see where you're coming from, though. The idea of this thread is to let people express the fragrances that many have disliked or ignored and say that they actually like a fragrance that others do not. Sure, the list will be longer and at least one person will feel that every single generally disliked fragrance is good and in contrast more people will say a fragrance that is generally liked isn't very good, but does this make considering something to be overrated nonsensical?
Jacques Bogart - Bogart Pour Homme
Giorgio Armani - Emporio Armani He
Caron - The Third Man
Lorenzo Villoresi - Piper Nigrum
Penhaligon's - Malabah
Czech & Speake - No.88
From designers, Burberry Brit. People are quick to name London as one of Burberry's best fragrances and rightly so but Brit is a quality, addictive scent too. Forever in it's little brother London's shadow imo.
Bulgari Blu seems to be widely considered bland, boring, cloying, meh, etc.
I consider this to be a sad underestimation of a unique, clean and fresh scent.
Taken into account prices, a few houses:
Diptyque
Carthusia
L'Artisan
Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger, IMO, is underrated. It's a nice safe citrus scent for an affordable price.
Oooh, I love the love that Brit is getting in here! That was my first Burberry. I seldom ever wear it, but I use to love that stuff. I will wear it tommorow! lol
Onto my list:
Divine L'homme Sage
M. Micallef Note Vanille
Serge Lutens 5 o'clock Au Gingembre
Cartier Declaration Cologne
Cristiano Fisssore Cashmere for Men

Agreed on Insense, Wildthingy. I like the way you phrase it. Glad I've stocked up as well. Also, perfect characterization of Creed! Might have to quote you.

Prada Infusion D'Homme is criminally overshadowed by Amber, which I actually dislike.
Definitely agree about Brit. I've been reaching for this more than Burberry London recently.
Most underrated I can think of is Paul Smith London, a really dense fragrance with lovely brandy and coconut notes.
Just sampled Wall Street by Bond no. 9. It's truly fantastic. Very underrated.
