Tabac Blond Extrait
Enjoy your Tuesday!
Finally settled on Musc Ravageur.
Best to all.
Hello all. Belle d'Opium.
Good morning all!
Just having breakfast and waiting for anything other than a squirrel to visit my new bird table!!
I shall apply some Roma after my bath.
A woman without perfume is like a flower without a scent.
SotD is Chanel 31 Rue Cambon, from a sample. Notes included are bergamot, iris, jasmine,
patchouli and labdanum.
Good morning everyone So proud of myself that I managed to get up at a decent time of the day :P ( it's quite hard when it's so dark outside and I got no appointments to get up for) Today I'm meeting my cousin for some coffee and the bf comes for a visit Haven't seen him since friday so can't wait! Scentwise I'm in Fracas. Hope you all have a great day!
SOTD is Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier Ambre Precieux, for me numero uno of the many amber frags that I love. Just about perfect!
Wish you all a very good day.
"I felt something so intense, I could only express it in a perfume." - Jacques Guerlain
Good morning all !. SotD is Geir.
Kewart, don't mention squirrels. They try to steal our bird food too - nothing more than bushy-tailed tree rats. Loathe the bloody things.
...Washington Tremlett ~ Black Tie
two drops of AJ25 are gazing at me from the sample vial, teasing me shamelessly. turning aside with difficulty, I spray vintage Mitsouko on my forearms and dab some Mona di Orio amber on my collarbone, Vanille between my breasts. Has it come to this?
"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins p. 189
What I am loving right now: Shalimar vintage extrait, Chanel Bois des Iles, Chanel no. 22, Le Labo Iris 39, Guerlain Iris Ganache
My SOTD is XPEC Original.

Base notes: cedar and oak moss

Lovely, elegant Bulgari Rose Essentielle today.
Thierry Mugler Innocent Secret, a random pick of My Wardrobe.
I am wearing the Clinique AE LE Perfumer's Reserve for the first time, really really love the depth and body and drydown as well as the more feminine top. Perfect for the day as it was snowing hard when I woke up, now it is just nasty and wet. I only wish they had a version I could take with me during the day to reapply, as I always do that but then it is a heavier fragrance though I think it does not quite have the grand sillage the original AE has. Have
Esvedra again. Just lovely, but an Eau De Parfum? Nope.
G Of course I will let you know about the Calé once I get my head/nose around them. I am sure that our hedonist has the Preludio d'Oriente.
Hello all. Shalimar Parfum Initial.
Good morning! I was undecided today, and finally chose Roberto Cavalli Oro, which I've not worn in a while. I enjoy it's ease of wear, so it will be a good companion for my fickleness today
Two hugs to 30R -- one for mama and another one because of the Credit Card. Why does not 2012 brings any relief, is beyond me, and I thought we agreed on leaving all things mean/unfair in the past.
Balmain Jolie Madame, need to be assertive for shopping today.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Good morning everyone!
I'm in Chamade, vintage-70s pdt. Y'all have a fantastic day!
((30Roses)) - so glad to hear that things are improving with your mother! I imagine all that makes the cc problem seem rather insignificant in comparison, but Wolfie is right - you really deserve a break!
ineespenes - have fun with the bf ...you mentioned his name once, is it Per?
rtamara - well, apparently it has! And there's no use fighting it. I've heard that can happen with Amouage!
And while thy breeze floats o'er thee, matchless flower, I breathe thy perfume, delicate and strong,
That comes like incense from thy petal-bower; My fancy roams those southern woods along...

Bought some Joy edt yesterday and that will be my SotD. Have never worn it (except for the occasional tester at the mall) and am looking forward to it. And yes, I do wish it were the extrait.
Molyneux Quartz pour Femme. From our Unsung Treasures Thread. Crisp, peachy chypre. Nice!
30 Roses. Oh I am sorry. I meant to say I was so pleased about your mums progress, and so sorry about your Credit Card. Even if you are not liable, it is not nice.
Lovely pictures today. ROBERTO! swoon.
SOTD is Narciso Rodriguez Essence Musc. Doing some cleaning today in my office so needed a clean scent to go with the task.
This pic's for you, Hedonist.
Dior Granville -- just what the scent doctor ordered. Granville opens with the best, bracing bits of Bigarade Concentree and trumps the chemistry of the why-it's-so-popular-I-don't-know Maison Martin Margiela line of Untitleds, which smell like they wouldn't be healthy for a person to inhale them.
At the height of winter, Granville may provide that bit of "shock therapy" I've been looking for. Maybe Wisconsin has had too much uncommonly warm and sunny weather, and I'm conditioned for deep snow and gray skies, but whatever it is, I've felt out of rhythm. (Ineespenes and I might need to trade places.) The piney green heart probably is actually in season with the wreaths and trees of the holidays, so who's to say it isn't a winter scent? Thanks, Mike, you doll.
Oh, 30Roses, you must have some extra, extra good times coming because you've been suffering such challenges now.
Monarch butterflies require milkweed to prevent extinction
Good morning, good smelling persons.
Jailia today. Such a happy smell. It's gone more vanilla on me than usual but great scent.
30 Roses I hope your year improves as it progresses, better and better.
This week, 'Chanel Cuir de Russie: Skin Scent' at http://thescentimentalist.blogspot.com/
Ooh, lots of wonderful smelling folks here today!
30 Roses, I add my voice to the chorus of those who want you to be given a big break, already. Enough with the struggles and bits of bad luck!!!!!
I'm in Mackie today. Take care, all.
rtamara, oh my...you are in love, aren't you? When vintage Mitsouko won't even do, it means you're really in trouble. See this is what happens when you test luxury perfumes, eh?
30 Roses - I hate credit card fraud issues, they stress me out...go buy yourself some fragrance as a gift for having to endure all of that.
Quarry - your picture made me giggle. I'm **so** glad that you like Granville, I thought that you would but sometimes my favorites are at odds with my BN buddies. Since we have so little cool weather here in Miami I rarely reach for it when it's cold (that's usually when I grab my BIG orientals!) but perhaps next time it's chilly I'll wear it to see how I like it. Personally I wore the heck out of it last Summer, in D.C., just smelling the top of the bottle takes me back to The National Mall, the museums, the sun, vacation...ahh. Nice memories.
Today for me it's:
Caron Pour un Homme by Caron
It was my intention to reach for a manly, chest-pounding, 80's powerhouse fougere this morning (I woke up in one of those moods...) but when I scanned my wardrobe the previous firm resolve sort of softened and I craved a bit of lavender and vanilla without all of the swirling Guerlinade in MdM and Jicky - so CPUH it is. As I have described to another Basenoter before, the scent CPUH is a scent that I imagine I will be wearing well into my old age. It is a scent that I will grow into, it will continue to smell more 'me' the older I get. Sort of like a tree that you plant and watch it grow so you can benefit from the shade it will give you in the future. Nonetheless, at my age (41), I still love it.
"Seize opportunity by the beard for it is bald behind"
((hugs all around!)) I'll say one thing, Citibank is on its toes. They do catch fraud early, I have to give them that. But now I'm wondering where the cc skimmer was. At Olive Garden? At BJ's gas station? At the local grocery market? Surely not Walmart? I use that card everywhere. How to avoid a recurrence, short of switching to a cash basis? *scratches head*
I have a few errands to run and will be doing them wearing FdTRB since I still reek of it from my decanting last night! That huge 1000ml bottle is empty at last (not all used up, just all decanted.) The bottle smells wonderful and now that I don't have to worry about light exposure, I can find a place to display it, where I can uncap it for a smile-inducing sniff now and then. My daughter loves it, too.
Tonight I'm reaching for Roja Dove's Diaghilev, one of my fantastic additions to my wardrobe in 2011... it is part of a slight chypré craving welling up in me, which usually happens late winter to early summer (that's my favorite chypré season). Sounds as if I were done with winter...
30Roses, Glad you were lucky! So was I fortunately last year when I was a victim of that huge Lush UK data theft... still, it's distressing!
Enjoy your evening!
MFK Cologne Pour le Soir
Take care, everyone.
I am testing a sample on Wolfie's test list so that I can send it her way
I managed to post some atomizers before going out of town today. Will be back home on Saturday.
Ah, and in case anyone wondered about the sample, it is Isabey Fleure Nocturne.
Love to you all!

Followup: I think I found the source of the problem with the credit card.
I pulled out all my receipts since we got the new cc at the start of the new year, and called all 6 places where the card was used. One smaller local grocer, it turns out, has been having a number of problems with his scanners and theft of credit and debit cards over the past month. The owner is just beside himself -- he is a victim himself, having seen a 25% reduction in his daily sales as a result of this situation, and despite having his security company checking his store's credit/debit equipment, nothing has been found amiss. Yet he thinks the problem must be occurring at his store, since so many people whose credit/debit info has been stolen in our town have shopping at his store in common. He's working with local police to try to solve the problem and is planning to switch to just taking cash or checks as payment for a while. I will still shop there -- it's convenient and they have very good meat-- but will only use cash.
Scent free today. Woke up with toothache after a lamb bone incident but had to work this morning due to deadline. Never mind treatment done now, will have to work late to catch up tomorrow. Will treat myself to something soothing at bedtime.
Only 4 sleeps to the big metal bird left
Wearing just a tad of Kuumba Made Persian Garden. I had an interview today, but it just got rescheduled so was going for something almost imperceptible. :P
Rose Barbare - Guerlain from a sample.
30 Roses, you're nothing less than a saint- the way you handle stress and strife! That's my story and I'm stickin to it.
Eleftorea from Bourbon French Perfumery- slathered in lotion, dusted in talc and two drops of perfume to top it all. I'm smelling so sunny that hummingbirds and colored finches are gathering outside my window in attraction.
naw- the birdies always gather on my winterblooming plants which are planted close to the house- cheap entertainment. I'm simply in a good mood because I took the whole day off work for a Dr Appt. & finished a HUGE project on deadline last night.
Enjoy the rest of the Tuesday, all.
A Scent Rescuer
Every great perfume deserves a good home
Stuffed peppers for supper tonight! I love to smell them cooking.
I love the birds, too, Knit. We have a pair of cardinals who live in the boxwoods by my window where I sit in the morning. I love to watch them.
I'm wearing the last of my new (to me) musk samples: Keiko Mecheri Musc. Notes of sandalwood, golden amber, tonka bean, crystal musk. It's a light, delicate, warm, skin-scenty musk, very pleasant this one, and needs to be sprayed more lavishly than I can dab from my little sample. This one and Mure et Musc were my two favorites of my samples.
30Roses, glad to hear you have figured out the credit card problem. That must be maddening!
Chanel Cuir de Russie tonight. Far, far too beautiful for my rather dull evening, but I'll smell wonderful when I go to bed
I'm wearing Armani Privé Cuir Améthyste today.
30 roses, sorry about the credit card problems ... my paypal account was hacked once and I remember what a pain that was!
My SotD: Caron Secret Oud, first time from my decant
Notes: Saffron, damask rose, “grey-haired” rock rose, jatamansi, oud wood, jasmine, cedarwood, atlas, musk
Comments: A subtle and mysterious rose aoud. I will need more time with this!

Bourbon French Musk oil. A softly sweet and vanillic scent, not as "musky" as I'd hoped, but I enjoy its coziness. I'm still enjoying the scents I brought back from NOLA. Plenty there to keep me busy well into 2012.
(((30R))) Sorry to hear about the credit card fraud. So unsettling, when someone pulls a sneaky one on us.
Ava Luxe Bohemian Rose tonight.
Have a good evening, everyone!
The nose wants what it wants!
Oops, I did not have time to check in this morning.
