If the lot number is 8 characters, the 4th and 5th digits are the year it was produced.

Thread: Creed lot numbers? |
Hi,
I have a question about Creed's lot numbers.
I just bought a Virgin Island Water at neiman marcus. My box looks a little old and the scent does not last long on me.
Is there anyway to tell how old this batch is? Or when it was made on by the numbers on the box/bottle?
Thank you!

That was a big help Thank you!
Mine would have been made in 2010 then( I just bought it).
Is that normal for creed? To sell year old bottles, or should I be looking for a 2011? I've called around and most are from 2010 so I'm thinking this must be what creed is sending from the factory.

It is typical of VIW no matter what year its from. it may come alive a little more in the summer.

That's good to know.
Should I be looking for a newer batch regardless though since mine is already a year old and just bought?
If you really want to pursue it, you might call the Creed Boutique in NYC and ask them what their most recent batch of VIW is. If it's newer and meets with your satisfaction, you could buy it and probably get a refund from Neiman Marcus. But don't buy the one from Creed until you know for sure that NM will refund your money.
Or, you could take the 2010 bottle back to Neiman's and ask for a newer bottle, now that you know what to look for on the lot numbers.
The 2010 bottle has nothing to do with the longevity, though. If you're not satisfied with it, it would probably be better to look for something that makes you happier rather than exchanging it.
I have a Millesime Imperial, 2.5oz with the lot #CD1Q05. Any info on that?
