I do it all the time, it's the only way I get longevity on some fragrances.

All the time. But some frags take to hair better than others. After some trial and error, I've settled on a handful of hair scents in regular rotation.

Not me. Although I have no proof, I'm afraid that the chemicals in the colognes, if sprayed directly, would damage my hair.

There are many chemicals, including fragrance, in nearly everything we put on our hair, including shampoo. But if you're concerned, shield your hair first with a conditioner or some other dressing - I use a bit of virgin coconut oil out of the shower.

i doubt it, not in these amounts. if anything, the alcohol might dry it out a bit, if you apply a lot of perfume.

I always spritz onto what is left of my hair, so later when I put my cap over my face for a snooze, I drift off in a cloud of happiness.

Would spraying on the top of the arms, instead of the inside/wrists be a good idea as well for scents with below average projection/longevity?

not a good idea my friend because the alcohol in it will dry out your hair and other chemicals could damage it. Its not meant for hair. try the back of the neck like said before

It's surprising people think it's a bad idea for your hair because of the alcohol content. What about the dozens of chemicals and detergents in your shampoo and conditioner like SLS and parabens? And then you have people who fry their hair with straighteners, curlers, bleach and color. As long as you are not dowsing your hair a spritz should be fine.

I have quite long hair, and use Eau du Coq as my conditioner - nothing else. Basically I wash my hair - using a fine castile soap, rather than shampoo - rinse it thoroughly, then douse it in Eau du Coq.The alcohol does not dry it out; it evaporates very quickly, leaving the oils in my hair, which moisturise it very effectively. The effects are pleasing, as, of course, is the scent.

Hair is dead keratin. The skin is a living organ. I spritz on my clothes and rarely apply fragrance to my skin. When people say "my skin absorbs fragrance like crazy", I shudder.

At the risk of repeating myself:

I donít quite understand why it is people think something that is safe to spray on your skin is nevertheless going to damage your hair or make it fall out. And if it does do that why women, who do this all the time, are unaffected . . . and chest hair, underarm hair etc is likewise unaffected.

Is there some logic here that Iíve missed? Are there hundreds of thousands of former hair-perfuming women secretly hiding their baldness under wigs throughout the western world? Is it all a conspiracy on the part of wig-makers? The truth should be told!

I do spray at the nape so the little bit of hair there helps with longevity but I wouldn't dare ruin my beautiful scalp.

Did it a few times. I use a hair wax that smells like green apples, so it adds a nice scent to it. One spray in the air, and I stand right above it.

How do you manage to do that?

Seriously though, my hair definitely holds scent longer than my skin. I can still smell the scent of the previous day in my hair, after thoroughly showering and shampooing. Even if it's something notorious for its fleeting longevity.

No and never will, in fear of the chemicals/alcohol drying out my hair.

I anyways oil my hair using either coconut oil or argan oil or almond oil or cress oil overnight.

I do back of neck right at the nape so it is part neck and hair. I find it stays better and it always has a little more in way of a nice sillage trail.

Woops, I just re-read what I typed. I actually hold the bottle above my head and spray directly down. I keep the bottle as high in the air as possible. I also pray that I don't look up and get a nice fragrance-pepper spray!
