Bang by Marc Jacobs. NOBODY here (or on Youtube) seems to like it besides me. I absolutely LOVE the stuff. So do women. Signature scent material.

Really!? I love Dia Man too and will purchase it at some stage but I don't get the similarity at all. Maybe I need to test Dia further.
Actually, Dia Man is probably another one to add to the list.

Aqua Di Gio was my first good fragrance too. To this day it reminds me of college and my youth. I don't own it anymore, but it holds a unique place in my heart.

I have one everybody pisses on: Ralph Lauren Romance for men. I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit it (what am I missing that all of these respectable people hate so much about it?!?) but I'll admit also, if it lasted longer than fifteen minutes on the skin I would actually wear it often. But it has the worst longevity I have ever encountered. It's weak longevity is without peer.

This one lasts 10+ hours on me. I like it, too, although I prefer Romance Silver with its grape/suede/nutmeg/tobacco/cypress thing. It kind of smells like cola to me.

Really? I'll have to do a side-by-side test because I've been testing Baudelaire quite a few times and it always reminded me of something but I've never been able to put my finger on what. Thanks for the tip, SOS.

I get a similar powdery vibe with a somewhat similar floral vibe (the orris in Dia to the hyacinth in Baudelaire) as well. They share some aromachem or two, or perhaps a major accord, because they both have something in their powdery floralcy that is distinctly unique and really rubs me the wrong way. That's the one good thing about my waxing and waning chemical sensitivities, it can help me to pinpoint similarities in some scents (or at least find scents that share certain chemicals). Of course, sometimes those similarities are magnified by the sensitivity, but I've found time and again that Baudelaire conjures up Dia in my mind w/ that weird powdery vibe.

Considering the popularity it enjoyed back in the 80's, it gets very little mention now. I love it for the memories it stirs and because there's nothing else that I've encountered that is similar. I happily display it next to my Creeds, Tom Ford Private Blends, Guerlains, etc.

Wore it today at work after it had been sitting on my counter for a month getting no love at all. Wow - perfect frag for a suit. I felt like the Donald in the boardroom. This has now replaced Eau des Baux and PE as my go to work frag.

I need to wear what I have more often. There could be other frags I change my mind on as well.

Right now, loving Cool Water, despite the haters.

Edit: And despite all my whining of late about how neutered Fahrenheit and other former powerhouse frags currently are, today Cool Water was God-like. Perfect sillage and projectivity for 6+ hours. And to think I picked up an old Christmas gift set at Wal-Mart for $20. Walks all over my $120 Fahrenheit.
