Default One frag for two weeks straight - can it meet the challenge?

I'm on a two-week business trip, and I decided rather than take a few with me, I'd stick with one for the duration.

It had to be both office and apres-work appropriate; complex enough that I wouldn't tire of it. One other criterion was that I wouldn't cringe if by some reason, I lost it along the way (I'm checking luggage so size isn't an issue here).

The contestants: TF Grey Vetiver | YSL Rive Gauche PH | CH 212 Men | Guerlain Vetiver | ADP Colonia (the "original")

Any other choices from my wardrobe I should have considered? I didn't consider TF Italian Cypress nor Chanel Sycomore - the cellphone isn't even cracked on those two yet.

I will tell you that I've already made my choice; indeed, I'm writing this from the airport. However, the duty-free here has "regular" Egoiste! I'm sorely tempted...

From looking at your wardrobe I'd say TF Grey Vetiver is a great choice. Out of something you don't have, I'd say Creed Green Irish Tweed. I'm having a very hard time seeing where that fragrance wouldn't do excellent.

Id suggest you dont do it. I wore Gucci Pour Homme 2 for 1 week straight on a vacation. Before the vacation started it was in my top 2. Now it barely makes my top ten, and I cant even wear it .

HOW DO PEOPLE SURVIVE WITH ONLY ONE FRAGRANCE?!

I like your line-up. My choice would be Guerlain Vetiver. In fact I missed it so much on a recent 2 week holiday (for which I had foolishly only packed a number of samples, none of which were any great shakes) that I ended up buying a bottle.
P.S. Get the Egoiste as well.

If I had to wear the same from that selection for two weeks straight I would go for Rive Gauche. It has everything and can be worn over and over without getting tired of it. You or anyone else.

I am heading to the States at 6am for three weeks I have bought six of the little Travalo atomisers and am taking Guerlain Habit Rouge and Vetiver, Chanel Pour Monsieur and Egoiste and Terre de Hermes and Dior Homme. That is my current work rotation and Travalo's make it easy. String recommendation.

I usually take only one bottle when travelling as well, and it has never made me dislike any scent. I would've probably chosen Rive Gauche, but you didn't say what you selected?

I hope you bought that Egoiste as it's definitely one of the very best.

In looking at your wardrobe I couldn't help noticing your generous four star longevity rating for Black Walnut and Eau Sauvage. How I wish they were so tenacious on me!

personally, i would have chosen Mark Birley from your list
even better - imo - would've been Midnight in Paris, but it wasn't there.

Thanks for responding all! The winner was YSL Rive Gauche PH. As of right now, I didn't get the Egoiste, although they haven't called my flight yet. They only have the 100ml size here in Boston. I'm going through Paris on both legs of my trip - maybe they'll have a smaller size of it there.

Update - well, the duty-free at Charles de Gaulle had a 50ml Egoiste, which came to Frankfurt with me. I felt kind of funny buying fragrance at 6:30 am, but do airports count as real places in time? I wonder if I can hold out for the rest of the trip and not use it?

And Oupavoc - I generally travel with a few decants/samples/minis - but I just wanted to try something new for this trip.

Why not, with so many great scents in one wardrobe- especially if this scents worn two weeks in a row were Rive Gauche, Guerlain Vetiver or ADP Colonia

Good choice on both. Regrettably, CDG doesn't have much niche, or even fancy lines (I think I remember the hermessences but not say Dior or Chanel exclusives). For mainstream there are good choices though.

On your way back, try to pick up a bottle of Dior Jules, which is unavailable stateside. (I saw it in town, I didn't pay attention at the airport).

Rive Guache. I like Grey Vetiver but it's kind of a boring scent. It's nice every now and then, but not for 2 weeks straight.

Cacio - believe me, I was looking for Jules! I happened to find a bottle two years ago at my local Neiman Marcus, of all places, and it's still pretty full. However, I'll get another if I find it!

The Neiman Marcus here in San Francisco carries Dior Jules, I believe.

Starting out the second week of just Rive Gauche! Holding strong to the original concept of the challenge. Although shopping yesterday I did get the deo of Egoiste as well. Both edc and deo STILL in the cellophane!

Who knew Frankfurt had so many perfume shops? Well, two anyway (Albrecht and Douglas). Douglas is like Starbucks here - one on every corner, practically.

Finally sampled Knize 10 as well. Not a fan, but glad I tried.
