Default Cuir Mauresque-Is the civet too strong?

I am very impressed by the notes list in this one.
The only thing that frights me a bit is the civet note.
I don't want it to be too strong.

    Actually,how strong is it?
Is it ,for example like Aramis 900 strong or less? (or even stronger??)

I cant smell any civet there. Also, i dont like it that much (too much rawhide for me)

Don't worry there isn't any civet and the animalic side is tempered down in the last formula.

My first thought was: Cuir Mauresque? Civet?

If you've tried Royal English Leather and Knize Ten, Cuir Mauresque is their spicier lovechild. I do smell castoreum, soap, leather, but not civet. ( Lutensian civet-leather is better served by Sarrasins. )

If it is civet in particular that you are worried about, then I think you can rest easy.
Cuir Mauresque does have definite animalic side to it though, which sneaks up and unfailingly catches me unawares around the 4-5 hour mark. Definately my favourite part

    What no civet in there?
Rather strange, because in most of the notes listing for CM ,civet is included.

Anyway,i'm not saying that i do not like Civet, but in some cases it is really overwhelming.
    Hmm...i'm getting more excited!!

It could has something somehow skanky , that is confusing with the leather , but isn´t civet.

Better make a decision quick. CM is a temporary global release. Once they're sold out it'll only be available in Paris.

Well ,i asume that the SL company ships the exlusive bottles all over Europe, don't they?

As for now(and February),no more money for SL.I'll wait until my other two SL(Daim blond and Douce amere) will be sold, and then i will buy a bell jar of Fumerie Turque or CM.

I don't get a civet note in Cuir Mauresque. I get more of a "neoprene wetsuit" vibe in the top, and then a slightly sweet spiced leather later.

My nose doesn't pick up anything revolting with this one.

No civet here either. After the initial 30 seconds of utter shock, there's a beautiful and full bodied orange blossom that lasts for at least and hour, and then morphs into a clean soapiness. This is one of the standouts of SL line with above average sillage and longevity.

As i can see from the replies, the majority does not get the civet, some get castoreum(which is very smooth if i got it).

So i'm expecting something definitely leather-ish,slightly animalic, with a floral touch and a spicy heart.

    Right?

Tried a shot of this last week for the first time, it's just turned up here. Made me think of L'Heure Bleue via Bois de Copaiba with just a touch more spice. No civet apparent to me and I really had to look hard for any leather. Will try it again.
