Default Can some people just not wear perfume?

Why do most perfumes fade so quickly on me? * The only fragrances that last on me are Angel ( EDP and EDT ) and Pink Sugar. * These will last on my skin for hours but none of these feel like "me" , * if that makes sense. * *

Other fragrances last anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 hour, tops. * I recently got Flowerbomb, *a lovely fragrance on my skin for 5 minutes and then it vanishes. * I get about an hour out of Light Blue or Euphoria. *Burberry Brit EDT will get me 15 minutes. * * It starts to feel like a waste of money!*

It is not just my nose pooping out, *either. * I've asked others and nobody else can smell the perfume either (unless it is the aforementioned Angel or Pink Sugar fragrances, which I'm just "eh" about ).

I would describe my skin as "normal", perhaps a bit dry on my hands. **

What's the deal? I want to smell nice, darn it !! Suggestions?

Everybody's skin chemistry is different so I guess you are just one of the unlucky ones

I've never seen anyone like that so I'm skeptical.

Tis true.. most fragrances fade very quickly on me, except for a few. Bath and Body Works lotions last on me but I'd prefer to wear more complex scents. Guess I'm doomed to just re-apply.... frequently! My bad skin chemistry will be Sephora's gain, as I will run through my fragrances quickly as a result.

Angel lasts for hours on me. My husband likes it but my kids think I stink. Conversely, my daughters like Pink Sugar and it makes my husband wrinkle his nose. Everything else that I've tried seems to fade FAST.

It's probably olfactory fatigue; the scent still projects but you don't notice it. Ask your co-workers or someone else you know whether they can smell any of your perfume, and if they say "no" get a second or third opinion. Because there is NO WAY for Flowerbomb to disappear in five minutes, skin chemistry be damned... unless it's a very badly done fake.

Some of the fragrances I mentioned were sample vials I ordered off the Internet. Perhaps they were not good ? Hmmm... I'd rather think that than I'm just weird !

    1. Is your skin quite dry? Applying an unscented lotion may help with longevity.
    2. I find that scent sprayed on exposed skin evaporates faster. Try spraying onto upper chest before dressing, and let some get onto your clothing. You can also mist it over your hair lightly.
    3. Do you live in a very warm climate? Warmth makes the fragrance evaporate faster.
    4. Apply a few more sprays.

I just went from the Denver area (VERY dry climate) to Texas. The skin on my hands is dry; my face has normal skin. Thanks for the suggestions. I've been on a fragrance quest lately, smelling bottles at Macy's and Sephora and I ordered a bunch of samples online.

Were they dab samples or spray vials? l find spraying makes a big difference to the longevity, in a good way.

In addition to what said, remember that you can also spray on clothes, which lasts much longer.
