Default Bond No. 9 Chinatown a male fragrance?

Ive heard different opinions about the fragrance Chinatown from Bond No. 9. Some say yes and others say no about a man being able to wear this fragrance. I hear it is a nice smelling fragrance from all the reviews I've read here on basenotes. Although I haven't been able to smell this fragrance since I am not near a Saks's or Nieman Marcus retail store. So my question is can a guy pull this off or is it much too far gone on the sweet side to be masculine?

I like Chinatown a lot and wear it fairly frequently. I don't put a lot of weight on the gender designations, but I'd have to say that this definitely leans feminine. (I mean feminine as the wider public would likely perceive it.) If you're not too self-conscious about fragrances that lean feminine, then I'd say you should definitely give it a try.
    Current Top Five:
    1. Bois des Iles--Chanel
    2. George Sand--Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier
    3. L'Ame Soeur--Divine
    4. Violet Blonde--Tom Ford
    5. Santal Blush--Tom Ford

I've tried it to. It is a beautiful scent leaning heavily towards feminine. Unfortunately, its not for me either.
My mom's great. I appreciate her sense of humor, patience and fondness for daytime drinking. :0)

I have it and wear it. To me, the best in the line by far. It is not a stereotypical masculine, in the sense that it is neither a hospital cleaner, nor a bare, sugary woody. It is a rich gourmand, where the gourmand includes not only desserts, but fruits, veggies, even meat, with a touch of flowers as well. I don't see the problem with men wearing this.

In any case, it is a striking smell, so it is certainly not a blind buy.

Agree that it leans more feminine, but you shouldn't care about that. You should try a sample first and see if you like it for yourself. If you get it, wear it with confidence and pride.

I have The Scent of Peace from Bond No. 9 and although it's also classified as Unisex, it smells deelish and I reach for it here and there. The Scent of Peace is something else to try other than Chinatown.
