Still another flanker - wow.
Davidoff announces its 1000th Cool Water flanker.......
Davidoff presents two new limited editions of the famous Cool Water fragrances for him and for her, dedicated to summer of 2012.
These new releases are named Cool Water Pure Pacific for Him and Cool Water Pure Pacific for Her, inspired, as their name suggests, by the Pacific Ocean, its energy and power.
Cool Water Pure Pacific for Him blends fresh citrusy notes with aromatic herbs. The top of the composition bursts with lemon, mandarin and grapefruit. The heart includes basil, sage, ginger and mint, while the base is woody due to accords of juniper, sandalwood and vetiver. The composition is signed by Philippe Bousseton.
Top notes: lemon, mandarin, grapefruit
Heart: basil, sage, ginger, mint
Base: juniper, vetiver, sandalwood
Cool Water Pure Pacific for Her is a feminine and extremely fresh fragrance that opens with accords of juicy pineapple, melon and mint leaves. The heart includes flowers of jasmine, violet and lily of the valley blended with green accords of bamboo. The base notes are sandalwood, orris root and peach. It is developed by Benoit Lapouza.
Top notes: pineapple, melon, mint
Heart: jasmine, violet, lily of the valley, bamboo
Base: sandalwood, orris root, peach
The fragrances are available as 100 ml EDT (feminine) and 125 ml EDT (masculine).

Never tried any CW flanker. Think I will wait for Silver Shadow Altitude Sport instead.
I actually enjoyed the original Cool Water release when it first came out, but these flankers and reformulations are just too much.

I'm more interested in smelling my own urine.
Welcome to the world, million and seventh Cool Water flanker!
I can imagine sniffing it once to sate my almost nonexistent curiosity about it and then moving on until flanker 1,000,008.
June 2012 - Still trying to renew my activity here, going better than it has in a while. Always busy, it seems, never enough time for fragrances and Basenotes for my liking. Warren Zevon said it best - Life'll Kill Ya.
Biggest priority - set up a possible sales or swap thread for some bottles I've been meaning to rid myself of for a while now.
Two years and seven months since I registered at Basenotes, as of the day I'm writing this, June 21st. My oh my, time does fly when you're having fun.
The notes sound a lot like the Summer Fizz flanker from several years ago, which I have and love. I actually like it even more than the original, but sadly, it does only last about 1/4 as long as regular CW. Overall, the flankers usually are pretty decent and tend to stick pretty closely to the original formula (with a few different top notes thrown in)Kinda the same scenario as the yearly CK One Summer flankers. (except CW smells a heck of a lot better than CK One to me)
I enjoyed Summer Fizz..looking forward to trying this.
You can't blame Davidoff for trying to eke out every last penny from the powerhouse and international superstar that is 'Cool Water'.
Actually sampled this and was pleasantly surprised. It's actually nicer than it's older sibling and I had no hesitation adding this to my summer rotation, which is rather limited anyway.
Problem is, although this stuff is classy, fresh and modern, longevity is a real problem. I get 3-4hrs max, before I feel I need to re-apply.
If this had the lasting power of the original, I would unashamedly put this latest creation towards the front end of my summer rotation, along with Grey Vetiver and Chanel PE.
I'm waiting for the flanker "Straight of Hormuz" to be released; can't wait!
