Thread: Aventus Blended With SMW?
In all seriousness, it's pretty sad that people can't express their honest opinions without being labelled anything other than a fan.
I shall try the blend. I blend Windsor and Aventus all the time, it's wonderful!
Want to trade - Chanel Platinum Egoiste for Dior Eau Sauvage...
A little off topic but I wore Silver Mountain Water for the first time in a while. I realized that the drydown bares a strong similarity to MI. Also, this would incredibly sexy on a female.
Don't worry about them being scared away either -- he/she will come back under another guise when the opportunity arises.
One Love -- Yeah!
All are welcome to post their thoughts here, but some thoughts are different to others and we really do have to accept that in order to move forward.
It is tedious in the extreme to have waves of newbies breezing in to repeatedly extoll the virtues of a specific brand, online retailer, etc., usually in a very persistent and dogmatic way which is inevitably going to lead to them being 'outed' by various members in public or by p.m.
It's the dogma, not the opinion, that is so very tiresome.
Personally, I accept that it's something people enjoy wearing but really don't need to be converted or preached to about it - neither do many others here.
Anyone who has read the Creed threads in this Forum prior to joining will have noticed that this approach will usually cause a reaction - so why do it?
Why not just join in like a regular member instead of making a post that is bound to have a bad reaction?
Members posting in this thread obviously have different opinions - fine, why not?
Provided that rules are not broken we may either join in, block the posts of someone whose opinions we consistently disagree with, or just go & read another thread - even if swearing quietly to oneself while so doing!
I'm probably not going to be around to check out replies to this post for a few hours as my very ancient parent has just sustained a broken hip whilst under the care of our local hospital and is in theatre right now.
Thanks for the commonsense and good luck at the hospital.
First off, good luck at the hospital. I hope your parent is ok.
With regard to the highlighted, you are assuming that newbies go back to the countless pages upon pages to read up on every topic on a single house that has been posted. While it may be aspirational, it is impractical and just wont happen. There was nothing "irregular" about the OP. The OP actually took the time and looked up an existing/relevant thread and contributed to it and was just told to "go outta here". I cant see any forum rule they broke, why that response. This usually occurs when people have something positive to say about Creed. I'm not sure why it is inconceivable to some people on this forum that someone could genuinely like their products. NO ONE compels anyone to read anything here, no one compels any one to do what any " sales person" suggest that they do. No one is "preaching" to you. From all indications, you are all grown men/women, none of you people are drones so if you see a topic on creed you do not like, keep it moving! How is this so hard???
When i read his posts, it came out as quite enthusiastic about something he discovered, Ive never tried the blend but said, "hey, it could be worth trying out" This is a public forum where ideas and experiences should be encouraged. There are way too many fragrances in the world for each of us to experience and it is of benefit to me at least to learn new ideas from others. Shouting down new members how do not violate any forum rule is just plain juvenile.
If we're all so convinced that MillesimeMe is a trolI/shill, then why not ban him on the spot? lpp? Why is he allowed to live another day to troll/shill again? This guy makes one post on BN and the usual suspects immediately pounce on him. As he said, what a warm welcome. Is it completely out of the realm of possibility that he could just be a guy who's taken a liking to Creed fragrances? Then we have this guy http://www.basenotes.net/members/261...trickculverton who has a total of one post, an Aventus bashing comment, and he gets commended for it by the same people throwing around accusations in this thread. Perhaps he's a Bond no 9 employee? How come people can start a million threads about how great DHI and LIDGE are and that's fine, but everyone gets all riled up when someone speaks positively about Creed? Have Creed employees actually been caught posting on Basenotes, or are you guys just going on a hunch you have? Really, where is the evidence?
When I discovered BN in the early 2000s Creed was where I started. Sampling Creed fragrances was what got me into this hobby, and I suspect the same goes for a lot of people here. Creeds are often seen as gateway scents. I sympathize with these guys because at one time, I was one of them. If I had made an account in 2003, all of my posts would have been about Creed and how great they were. If someone had called me a shill, I'd be furious. If it was a moderator making the accusation, I'd be even more put off. Nobody is forcing this stuff on you, you're seeking it out. If you don't like people extolling the virtues of Creed, then how about you don't click on a thread titled "Aventus blended with SMW "? IDK, seems like pretty common sense stuff to me.

Don't go into the legal profession for God's sake -- you'll either be acquiting or hanging the wrong person
Yea oh argue semantics when you have no point. It is patently obvious to anyone that chooses to use their brain that my post (and every other response over the past couple of days) was directed at the original post of MillesimeMe and the juvenile response to it. I mean my thread that you highlighted which i doubt you read even makes reference to the "OP looking up an existing/relevant thread and posting to it". It helps to read before rushing off to post semantics which skirts the issue being discussed.
Thanks for the offer to take your word, however i prefer to take the word of other civil individuals on a public forum.
Ps. Thanks for the career advice. I'm not sure where you live but we dont "hang" people over here anymore, and the task of acquitting people does not require one to be a "legal professional"

The OP was last on Basenotes almost one year ago, so this thread was locked for that reason as well as the bickering.
