Default Creed MI from fragrancex.com: the magic is back.

I can't stay away from MI, remembering my favorite scent of all time: MI from about 2007 or 2008. I just received a new bottle from fragrancex.com. I'm guardedly optimistic; the salt is toned down from 2009 and 2010, and the melon is dialed up (I'm just saying "guardedly" because it's only been on for about an hour). Maybe not the best batch ever, but pretty damn good, and likely back in my top 3.

For the record: serial number is A3311UO2.
    Current Top Five:

    1. Creed Green Irish Tweed
    2. Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
    3. Hermes Concentre d'Orange Verte
    4. Bond No. 9 New Haarlem
    5. Creed Original Vetiver

All that matter's is that you're happy with your purchase. Enjoy.

It's good to hear that you have gotten a good batch. The lush melon on a salty seabreeze accord is just wonderful.

Nice! I just got my bottle from another vendor. I have no serial # or batch # (ground off) but it's nice and melon-y and salty, so I'll still call it a success.

Glad you got a good batch from them. The batch I ordered and sent back the same day was just awful.

I ordered from Fragrancenet and ended up with a batch that 2 others had also received and its the most balanced MI I have ever smelled (batch #A3311U01) and it lasts 8+ hours which is crazy for MI haha.

Don't get too excited yet. They might have older batches of a different size. Which is why I asked which size he received. You can't assume all the sizes are the same batch number, unfortunately.

Mine's a 4 oz. At first I didn't see a serial number (I'm used to seeing them on the lower back lip), but realized mine was etched on the back (mine is the version with arabic writing and "toilet water" etched on it as well). I still think it has too much salt, but at least now I can smell the melon, and can deal with the minimal saltiness. On the other hand, the only thing I could smell from 2010 was salt.

    Holy buzzkill lol jk!

I just assumed he bought the 4oz (which I did as well). I really dont see any value in buying the 2.5 or 1 oz sizes.

TBH, I do get the 2.5/50 as much as possible, got to many, will never finish them

16 hours in I still gets whiffs of it. This particular batch I find the melon upped, but the salt lowered.
A bit more salt would of been nice.

    I can understand that.

I just would never spend $100 on a 1oz knowing that for an extra $40 you can get 3 more ounces. My frags are stored properly and not going bad anytime soon, plus I often make decants for friends and family (shamelessly trying to get them hooked lol).

My 2010 MI from theperfumespot has a nice melon note. Unfortunately longevity sucks big time at 3-4 hours. Are the 2011's longevity any better?

I've now worn the 2011 MI about four days (not in a row). The iniitial saltiness, which is already much muted from 2009 and 2010, fades over time, and after about an hour or two is virtually gone. That leaves the slightly floral melon that I love.

Longevity is good, but not fantastic. I know I can smell it for at least five or six hours, and it's noticeable to others up close for at least two hours after that. That's good enough for me.

I have a 2010 batch as well, smelled the same as my Perfumed Court sample, and I can detect melon from the very beginning. Lasts 6 hours or so, just doesn't project a whole lot.

I have a 99% full bottle of MI that I'm willing to unload at a very attractive price. Trying to raise funds for a new bottle of SMW. PM if you're interested.

Anyone know if the 2.5oz are 2011 batches?

I have my 2010 batch and i think its ok. Definitely fruity melon note in opening. Lasting power 4-5 h.
I dont understand why people say 2010 batches are wrong.
Do you have same experiences with 2010?
