Default New Fragrance: Cartier Eau de Cartier Essence de Bois

    From nstperfume.com:

Cartier will launch Eau de Cartier Essence de Bois, a new flanker to 2001′s Eau de Cartier, this spring. Eau de Cartier Essence de Bois follows 2010′s Eau de Cartier Essence d’Orange.

Eau de Cartier Essence de Bois is a fresh woody fragrance accented by oud wood. Additional notes include yuzu, bergamot, violet leaves, violet flower, lavander, musk, patchouli and ambergris.

Sounds worth looking into. I know alot of people are "tired" of oud ( why, I am not sure, no one is forcing you to smell it out on the streets), but its great to have a trend that makes a fragrance have more depth. None of this transparent BS.
Seeking: Bottles/decants : of Feeling Man, Gucci pour Homme, Essence of John Galliano, Nicole Miller (vintage), Opium pour Homme, Oxford & Cambridge...etc.

Seeking decant/sample of Jil Sander Feeling Man, Cacharel Nemo, Bijan for Men EDC, Lanvin for Men, Giorgio VIP, Il Lancetti and other old school frags ....etc. I have samples to swap.

I'm not 'tired' of oud. I just don't like it much. It isn't compulsory. Is it?

I really enjoy the entire Eau De Cartier Line, with Concentree coming very close to keeping a spot in my rotation. Hopefully, this will take that wonderful violet leaf greenness and pair it with just enough dry wood and warm, sweet basenotes to make it a keeper.

Will it be available in 200ml size ?

    Even Cartier with Oud!!

But this sounds good, i like a lot the regular Eau (but it dont project that much) and the flanker Concentree (almost perfect).

Never tried the Orange, it worth?

Will try this one as soon as possible. Will be delighted with a 200ml release, so i can overspray me with 15 sprays, delicious!

Actually, this could be good. I do love the original Concentrée.

Didn't enjoy the original. Too weak and the smell didn't do much for me. Maybe this one will be vastly different.

I liked the opening of the original (this opening actually smelled like the heart/base of Concentree), but thaught the original was far too weak as others did. I loved Concentree, just found it not quite woody or masculine enough to keep. I think the concentree's greenness and laundry musks would be excellently complimented by some Black Agar, iso-e, and ambrox. Cannot wait to smell this and hopefully buy a 200ml bottle.

The orange is actually pretty good. the entire line is, even the relaxante and other 100ml limited editions in multicolor glass. But so far IMO the Concentree is the winner. Just needed a bit of woods/tonka/OUD! maybe to deepen/darken up the violet leaf and white musks. I really am exited for this one.

i guess it's just that this entire "eau de cartier" line by Cartier doesn't get as much attention as the Santos or Roadster lines here on BN. I'll take it a step further and say it again: Cartier as a house doesn't get it's due praise here. Cartier fragrances are by and large a step above designer, a midrange shared with Hermes, YSL, Dior, and Chanel (although chanel is slipping rapidly)

Yes, Cartier and Hermes are very close to each other, but Hermes get much more praise here.
Declarations are as good as Terre if not better, and they are launched first.

Im quite excited for this launch, the Eau line is fantastic, my girlfriend love the regular, but think that its too wear for her tastes (and she dont like strong fragrances, only medium)

Not bad but if compared to the other deliveries in the same line, IMO, it lacks the novelty...Nice but unnedeed.

Tried it today. It seems a bit lighter and more powdery than Eau De Cartier. I could smell oud but it is weak. I can still smell hints of the original but it is faint. Not bad smelling but I wouldn't buy. I like the Concentree and the original better.
