Default Opium pour homme EDP vs EDT

Is the difference really that impressive?

I prefer the EDP. I think the difference is noticeable,

I like them both but there is a huge difference between them.
If it wasn't for the name I wouldn't think that both fragrances would be related to each other.
The edt has a bright opening with a lot of star anise. After that it moves into a spicy balmy vanilla. The drydown is mostly vanilla and cedar.
The edp opens with a huge dose of blackcurrant. After that it goes into what I perceive as a slightly dirty vanilla. The drydown is not unlike that of Ambre Sultan.
Both are much more complex as I describe them.
You have to test them for yourself and see what you make of them.
Both last a long time with plenty of sillage.

Both are great fragrances, rich and complex, but EDP blackcurrant is too dominant and overpowering for me.

Can't detect any overpowering components in EDT, although drydown has lot of vanilla.

    I prefer EDT.

    VERY different.

EDT is a huge woodsy spicy vanilla bomb, while the EDP is almost a oriental citrus (blackcurrant).

I very much prefer the EDT.

I haven't tried the EDP, but I prefer the lighter (but with great longevity) Eau d'Orient flankers over the EDT.

I tried the EdT long ago and disliked it, but I acquired the EdP recently and this it is up there with Ava Luxe's Kretek. It's not as dry and it's more vanillic/gourmand than Kretek, making it more enjoyable to me. But if you can't tell the difference, then even "cheapo" Cadillac may be just fine instead of either one.

There are a difference between edt and edp. Edt is nice when Edp is one of my all time favourites!

Tried the edt today and nearly died. This just doesn't suit me at all, that sweet roootbeer-note just ruins it for me.
It's got something nice going on under there but that persistent sweetness just keeps coming at you until you can't take it.

The EDT is OK, but the EDP is one of the finest spicy orientals on the market. Black currant, Star Anise, and vanilla. It is a silage monster and lasts for 12-15 hours on my skin, and over a day on my clothing. The EDP is deeper and richer than the EDT, it also has a more vanilla-intensive dry down. The EDP is outstanding.

EDP Is sensational , a balsamic/ narcotic wave of a dark orientalisme.

Edt is fine, but a little bit mature for my taste.

An even more impressive effect, at least on me and in my subjective opinion, than both concentrations put together- while I do like both the EDT and the EDP - had the flanker Eau d'Orient.

I used to think the EDP was miles better than the EDT, but now I have really grown to appreciate the EDT. The EDT works great for warmer temperatures. I don't want to be a sticky and stinky mess. Either way, both are great !
Seeking: Bottles/decants : of Feeling Man, Gucci pour Homme, Essence of John Galliano, Nicole Miller (vintage), Opium pour Homme, Oxford & Cambridge...etc.

Seeking decant/sample of Jil Sander Feeling Man, Cacharel Nemo, Bijan for Men EDC, Lanvin for Men, Giorgio VIP, Il Lancetti and other old school frags ....etc. I have samples to swap.

If you love either version, go ahead and buy both. You'll be glad to have both the light, bright version and the heavy sweet one, too.

The EDP is soooo potent, much heavier and thicker than the EDT version (more balmy too, where as the EDT feels more fruity up top to me). EDT would be a good choice irregardless, lasts and projects. The EDP is like that on steroids (I think it's much more potent than A*Men or Le Male).
