Default Anyone Tried Versilia Vintage - Boise from Profumi del Forte?

Maybe I did not do a thorough enough search, but I have not seen much if any discussion on this one (positive or negative). Anyone tried it (and if so could you please share you thoughts)? I ask, as I have a sample coming from Lucky Scent and they say that this is one I should love based on a long questionnaire I filled out and sent in to them. I, of course, will make my own determination when I get back from my Vegas trip and try out the scent in a week, but I am interested in hearing others' take on it as well. Thanks in advance.

The notes (from the Lucky Scent website) are:
Bitter orange, bergamot and vetiver, lavender, bourbon geranium, honey, Texas cedar, Indonesian patchouli, tonka bean, elemi from the Philippines

One thing I *do* know already is I love the bottle but hate the $240 price. ;-)

Drseid, I've a sample of Boisè somewhere, I think it's about time to give it a test...thanks for remidning me of this. In the meantime, considering you love for certain fragrances in the Micallef's range (expecially the Les 4 Saisons) I strongly encourage you to test their Versilia Platinum:

Head Notes: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Pink Pepper, Black Pepper, Rhubarb, Mirth.
Heart Note: Geranium, Freesia, Magnolia, Rose, Lilly of the Valley
Base Note: Vanilla, Immortelle, Oak Moss, Incense, Cedar Wood, Vetiver, Patchouli.

Thanks for the recommendation Alfarom! Yes, I added that to my "to test" list, and it will definitely be in my next round of Lucky Scent samples. I probably should confess I cheated a bit, as while doing research on this house in aid of finding info on Boise the day before yesterday, I saw your description of Platinum in an older thread and added it to my wish list there and then. ;-) Platinum does indeed seem up my alley (as well as their Ambra which also is on my sample list). I also will be quite interested to see what your take on Boise is when you try it out.

Just one more thing before you proceed with your next order: do you mind strong/sharp woody notes? If so, you should carefully avoid Platinum...just to say...

    drseid,

I know it's an old thread, but I recently got a nice 5ml sample of Versilia Vintage Boise and I *love it!*. Yes, it's not inexpensive, but it's not priced terribly either (and if you want just a smaller decant, I'm running a split of this one right now). The fragrance is very complex yet it's not terribly challenging - it's perfectly nice and wearable, it's rich yet can be worn casually, it's more woody than the notes would indicate. It's very aromatic with decidedly masculine feel, but it's not heavy - it feels transparent - yet it's not light skin scent either. Easily radiates within a few feet around you - and it's just beautiful. Very well done, the notes intertwine so beautifully you can't tell where one ends and another begins, they are in perfect harmony from the opening notes to the late drydown (8+ hours). I agree with Alfarom's review of it - it's got a lot of the JubXXV/Timbuktu/Kyoto feel, with I suppose an Italian twist - though it's not strong herbal like, say, Moschino pour Homme - which to me is "classic Italy bottled." Highly recommend to at least give it a try!! I've been very impressed with Profumi del Forte since discovering Versilia Vintage Boise and prior to that, Tirrenico.

Alfarom - I'd love to hear more about Versilia Platinum from you. I'm tempted to blind buy it, but at $295 it's not exactly inexpensive blind buy material. Profumi del Forte is not a common brand here in the US, so there's very little that I can find in terms of reviews. Are there any other fragrances you could compare it to to give me/us better idea as to what one might expect from Platinum?

I remember an awesome citruses, lavender and geranium combo that lasted too little unfortunately, the base was too weak and the scent didn't evolve at all.
