No, it smells almost exactly like Barbasol shave cream, IMO.
Thread: YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme |
I tested the new one today..
Am I the only one, who sees a big similarity with Chanel Antaeus?
I finde Antaeus stronger than Rive Gauche Pour Homme.
I was really impressed by new Rive Gauche Pour Homme, but I thought it was not really unique or special at the same time, though.

Smells like Brut to me. Plain and simple.
If there was one scent that DIDN'T need changing, it was Rive Gauche pour Homme. Sad, sad, sad.
There's a Quorum vibe after the opening notes.
Smells great but not like Anteus to me.

This juice is awesome, and imo everyone should have it in there wardrobe![]()
It smells like you just walked out of a barbershop in the 1950's with a clean, shiny side parted haircut slicked back and tapered to perfection. Your barber gave you the closest shave possible with his old Dovo straight razor and the smell of rich, warm shaving lather gently lingers in the air. You look, feel and even smell like a new man with your fresh shave, haircut, and crisply pressed business suit.
Also it kinda does smell like Barbasol shaving cream.
Edit: Oh wait, you're talking about the new formulation in the glass bottle? Oh..well disregard the unnecessarily long description of the original version above.

The newer version (glass square bottle) it's just partially devoided of the original power. No similarities with Antaeus to me...
the new bottle is just a watered rive gauche,,
it doesnt smell to me like antaeus at all,,
Rive Gauche pour Homme and Antaeus are both very classically-styled masculines, and both offer the same aura of "this is a men's cologne!" In that sense I can certainly see why someone would think of them as similar, even if they're not compositionally.
Maybe, it's the strong, manly drydown in the case of both
Isn't the "new bottle" part of La Collection just a limited edition?
