Default Family vacation on Cyprus - which fragrances to take with?

As the title says: I'm going to Cyprus for a family vacation, 14days. Weather will be jolly good, a bit on the cooler side except around midday.

Would it be too obvious to wear vintage chypres like "Y", "III", "Mitsouko"? Who would notice? Or should I wear Valentino - "Ocean Rain", particularly with no hydro meteorites in sight?

I was in Cyprus in Summer 2010 and I had a "what to take with me?" dilemma.

I went with Cool Water and I'm glad I did. In that sort of heat (which we aren't used to in Scotland) it came out a completely different fragrance and I enjoyed it a lot more than I usually do. Also I took into account the "what if I lost it?" factor and a bottle of Cool Water is easy to replace.

I left with cool water, came back with Cool water and a large bottle of Egoiste

Virgin Island Water, lol. Which I like a lot, it's almost a bit of a vacation-ey novelty given that coconut opening

As a native of the island (despite the flag next to my avatar), whenever I go back - usually 4-6 times a year - I always pack a TdH EdT and Acqua di Parma Colonia original. Recently I also took Aventus and Original Vetiver which also worked quite well in the heat.

I would also add that it depends on where you're going exactly. The mountains are still covered in snow right now which is unusual for March, but the sea-side towns are all spring/summer-like already, so take this into account when deciding.

    Have fun!

Indeed, but you need to go for the original Chypre. Sadly, you'll be the only one getting the joke. But after all, why not? Oakmoss is not, but labdanum is, indeed, a local product - so perhaps something with lots of labdanum?

Who knows, perhaps you can harvest some yourself, with the rake or by combing goat's beards...

I vote for taking the Givenchy III. I usually wore this in damp, cool weather, enjoying the green, the chypre, etc. Then I wore it a few times in hot, dry weather and it presented a whole new facet. Now I give GIII and other oakmoss-rich frags their turn on the stage in the heat.
