    Default Local swapping or selling

I checked the stickies and I didnt see anything against "noobs" starting threads involving local swapping. Since there is no risk or feedback to be considered, is this legal on basenotes?

Swapping is not supposed to be posted in the discussion threads per the rules of conduct (see excerpt below) but if you think this might be an exception, I suggest you message Stuigi who moderates the Marketplace, and ask. (See the main Forum page; moderators' names are in red under the forums they oversee. Click on the name.)

I'm aware. I started the thread under "just starting out" section for a reason. The actual thread would of course be posted under the marketplace. However, I'll definitely take your advice and messag the mod first.

Erok32, you would not be able to post in the BN Marketplace because you don't meet the requirements yet (500 posts or 1 year a member or BN Plus/supporting member.) You actually physically can't do it-- not merely "aren't allowed to" but the software doesn't let you post a thread there if you don't meet the requirements.

The rule about not posting sale/swap threads in the discussion forums is so that people who don't qualify for posting in the Marketplace don't try to use the discussion forums to get around the Marketplace posting restrictions.

The idea is that the forums are a place to discuss perfume, not to conduct business -- and whether you are posting about swapping by mail or locally in person, it's still conducting business. And that is what the BN Marketplace is for-- but only for people who qualify. I realize this is frustrating for new members.

Note that there is no restriction to private messaging people who live in your area about getting together. I think that would be better than doing it on the discussion forums and would not break any rules.

That's good advice. I'll try PMing.
