Default What should be my next Creed afther the MI?

    Hey all,

I got my first creed, the MI, after getting input from here and I was pleasantly surprised though I have to say the projection of it was lacking considerably. I am all ready to try another Creed though. Some background. I live in Singapore and it's always rain or shine here. Think Thailand. So I am probably looking for a Summer fragrance. And Creed is limited here and the online store I buy from only has the following :

    1. MI
    2. Bois Du Portugal
    3. Erolfa
    4. GIT
    5. Himalaya
    6. Original Santal
    7. Original Vetiver Millesime
    8. Royal Oud
    9. Royal Water Millesime
    10. Silver Mountain Water
    11. Tabarome
    12. Virgin Island Water
    13. Aventus

I orignially wanted to get GIT after the MI since both were neck to neck the other time I asked for opinion. But I have since read its way too similar to Cool Water and Cool Water is a dime a dozen here. Could anyone recommend one from the list above?

    Thank you!

Silver Mountain Water and Green Irish Tweed are just two of many that I own and love. Erolfa and Original Vetiver also work great in the summertime. Good luck with your selection

Original Santal, good projection, 8 hrs. of longevity.

Royal Oud. It won't be mistaken for any of the others.

I'd recommend getting your nose on some Original Vetiver. It smells amazing and doesn't really come
off as if you're wearing cologne. It just smells so natural and fresh. A great warm weather scent.

For a summer fragrance, it's hard to beat VIW - however the longevity is a little lacking. Himalaya is another favorite.

If it doesn't get too hot, Aventus is always a top choice IMO.
    Seasonal favorites:

    1. Creed - Spice & Wood
    2. Creed - Aventus
    3. Dior - Vetiver
    4. by Kilian - Incense Oud
    5. Puredistance - Black
    6. by Kilian - Cruel Intentions
    7. Armani Privé - Oud Royal
    8. Brückner - Aoud 1
    9. Creed - Royal English Leather
    10. House of Matriarch - Blackbird

Virgin Island Water would be great for the climate of Singapore.

Wow, those were some quick replies!

Still open to suggestions if any. VIW seems to be leading and Original Vetiver seems good too.

I am not a fan of Creed in general. The ones I like most are Bois du Portugal, classic citrus woody, and GIT. GIT is in the same style as Cool water, but it is different enough not to be confused.

GIT and Aventus are two excellent choices IMO.
    My current top ten:
    1. Spice and Wood
    2. Dior Homme Parfum
    3. Tonka Imperiale
    4. Pure Malt
    5. Bois d'Argent
    6. Noir de Noir
    7. Apple Brandy
    8. 5 o'clock au Gingembre
    9. Epic Man
    10.Tobacco Vanille

I'm a fan of Aventus, GIT, and Bois du Portugal, but I would vote for Original Vetiver as well for the warm, tropical climate that you experience in Singapore. OV is soapy, fresh, and pretty linear, but I think those are good attributes in a fragrance for a primarily warm and humid climate. You might suffocate in Original Santal or even Bois du Portugal

Royal Oud or Silver Mountain Water. Also, Green Irish Tweed is so much better than Cool Water in my opinion.

Numbers 3, 5, 10, 12 and 13 from your list will all work well in your climate. Royal Water is also good for your climate and to me is one of the best smelling Creed's there is, however it is rather feminine, so try to test first. Actually I would suggest testing them all prior to purchasing.

How about you don't click on anymore Creed threads if you're just going to post nonsense? People are free to talk about whichever fragrances they choose.

My top 3 Creeds for summer are as follows..

Aventus - not strictly for summer, works all year round.
Erolfa - aquatic, more interesting than MI imo.
MI - you already own this. Nice one.

If you spent most of your time indoors (i.e., in air-conditioned environments), I think there need not be too much concern over having to get a 'summer' fragrance.

You can test all the regular line at Escentials (Paragon or Tangs Orchard) to see what you like best.

I am surprised about your comment on the projection of MI though. In our heat, it can bloom quite significantly.

Hey Maque, any idea how much they are selling for at Escentials?

Might get both Aventus and VIW, one for night and one for the day.

All Creeds are very good, but you shouldn't be buying them blind. The only safe blind buys IMO are Aventus, Millesime Imperiale, and GIT, but sample always.

Escentials is really not cheap. They have only 75ml bottles for most of the scents, and cost about SGD 270 to 300.

You can try your luck at Dollars and Scent: they will have 120ml bottles for about SGD 200, and 75ml testers for SGD 100, but they have a very limited selection (no Aventus or Royal-Oud to my knowledge).

    I would go with Aventus.
