You CAN go wrong with Chanel. Everything in the last decade is shit.
New fragrance from the house of CHANEL. Don't blind-buy this if you liked the ALLURE HOMME SPORT. This has nothing to do with HOMME SPORT.. it smells good..SOAPY, CLEAN, DIFFRENT. But not WAAAAAUW.. this is not a compliment-getter.
My CHANEL rating (0/10):
(2004) Chanel allure Homme 'SPORT' - 9!!
(2008) Chanel allure Homme 'Edition Blanche' - 6
(2010) Chanel BLUE DE CHANEL - 8.
(2012) Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême- 7
Note: You never can go wrong with CHANEL, but don't waste your money because you like ALLURE HOMME SPORT.
You CAN go wrong with Chanel. Everything in the last decade is shit.
Chanel egoiste (90's) (platinum) and Antaeus (80's) are still hot.
So you don't like any of them? The last decade chanel: Allure.. is not so bad.. you just have to find your 'Allure' (Edition blanche, homme sport, extreme).
I have not really liked anything in their entire Allure line... So yes, you can go wrong with Chanel, IMO. Very wrong indeed.

This latest one wasn't one of their most inspired releases IMO.
So we all agree, don't buy this marketing idea. It does smell good but nothing groundbreaking.

Couldn't have said it better.

Sycomore is something I want to test out. It gets a lot of hype on here and youtube.
I do agree that Channel Allure Sport and Extreme are ok at best. I don't know if I would wear them if they were free to me.
It is consistent with the rest of the Allure line - shitty.

"A beautiful fragrance to the nose is like good jazz music to the ears, great food to the mouth, and Megan Fox and Jessica Alba to the eyes..."
Didn't care for the moderate version, don't feel the need to try this one.
Tried this yesterday from a tester and thought the extreme version smelled ok, but not bottle worthy. I'm still a big fan of Editon Blanche and hold out hope on an extreme version.
Not really a fan of the Chanel line...had thought of buying Allure Homme at one point but I decided against it...the scent becomes irritating to me after a while.
Allure Sport is very over hyped to me. Smells like lemon, and a lot of other citrus' thrown into a bottle.
I wouldn't wear it, but I wouldn't call Bleu de Chanel shit. I'd describe it as a "capable mainstream offering." Which, coming from Chanel, is very disappointing and boring.
has mass appeal
not snob appeal
AHSE is what AHS shouldve been, decent but not great
personally, the Allure line does nothing for me, but the Sport Extreme was a step in the right direction

tried chanel today. as a person with untrained nose, i am more with normal crowd side.
allure homme sport, extreme = nice but idk whether worth full bottle.
no 19 = nice
no 5= gorgeous! suitable for ladies i think
gardenia = i love it though more to feminine side
pour monsier = no from me
coromandel = neither good nor bad
cologne = shampoo?
sycomore = though so many hypes here, pretty hard for me to say. if you like woody scent, then it is yes. it does not WOW me. sorry
and there is one smells like a medicine thing, no 18 i guess
bleu = poor longevity
Never worked for me,smelled horrible on my skin the worst chanel i have ever sniffed..
I didn't find that at all, Its about the same ranking on my list as AHS (7.5)
The hunt for a Signature Fragrance is not an easy one! I see the light at the end of the tunnel! Edit: 2015... I've given up and given in

Tried it today at Nordstrom. It is a total ripoff of Geir by Geir Ness.

I tried this yesterday at Nordstrom and was surprised that I didn't care for it that much. Too much tonka bean for me. I did like the initial Dr. Pepper-like notes, but it dried down to something like Himalaya with the tonka bean cranked.
One thing that did make a positive impression on me was that my Nordstrom was now carrying the full Chanel men's lineup (except for the non-concentree Pour Monsieur. They had Antaeus and Egoiste, which blew me away; glad to see these two coming back to wider distribution!
IMO its not that the Allure line is bad as such more that it is there to please the mass market. I liked the original Allure Homme and bought it but it never got that many outings. AHS is the real big hitter of the line and to me is the epitome of "sport" fragrances. I don't like it because it is wayyyyy too loud for my taste. Even the cologne version is pretty tenacious.
I'm not gonna go on more about the line but I think the point is that the last groundbreaking or daring male fragrance from Chanel was Egoiste.
But this pleases the snobs like us and everything for men since has been aimed at a mass market which is why the majority of guys on this forum start bad mouthing Chanel men's fragrances before even smelling them.
It's the nature of the forum that we tend to rebel against the mainstream.
For good, anatomic reasons, scent fosters memory more readily than any other sense.
Is it just me, or does the dry down of AHSE smell strangely like a fresher version of the Lancome Hypnose Homme dry down?? I'm getting a striking similarity in the overall aroma. Someone please tell me I'm not crazy!

Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme isn't really a bad fragrance. In my opinion, it should have its own name as it smelled different from AHS or the original Allure Homme, at least to my nose. The Tonka is dominant in this one. Projection is excellent, and longevity is very good.
