Talking Montale Black Aoud vs Bogart Pour Homme

Hello all please help i have read that these 2 fragrances are potent but Black Aoud is expensive and Bogart is cheap. Is Black Aoud worth the extra money based on sillage and lasting power ? .

    Thanks

They really have nothing to do with one another. Get Bogart if you like sweet tobacco, cherry frags like Pure Malt/Havane, Spicebomb, Animale Animale. It only cost $18 so why not.

Completely different scents, but I prefer Bogart pour Homme of the two (and i like both kinds of scent catagories they fall into respectively). I guess it depends what you are looking for.

If you are looking for a sillage and longevity monster, Bogart certainly gets the job done in the "cherry pipe tobacco" sweet scent category.

Black Aoud is a rose, Oud and patchouli sillage monster. If I were looking for that category it is certainly worth consideration, but Portrait of a Lady also occupies that general territory and is the much better scent, IMO. Your taste/opinion may differ, of course... I would sample them both and decide for yourself...
    Current Top Favorites:
    1) Portrait of a Lady (EdP Frédéric Malle)
    2) Giorgio for Men vintage/V.I.P. for Men (Giorgio Beverly Hills)
    3) Dia Man vintage edt (Amouage)
    4) Les Nombres d'Or Vetyver (Mona di Orio) - tie
    4) Lalfeorosa (O'driù) - tie

    6) Anat Fritz Original Formula and Classical (Anat Fritz)
    7) Captain vintage (Molyneux)
    8) Tzora (Anat Fritz)

Both different and both worth buying IMO.

Completely different. Bogart Pour Homme is stronger.

Since they are so different, I'd suggest you order a sample from ThePerfumedCourt.com or Luckyscent.com for Black Aoud, and Bogart Pour Homme is inexpensive enough to consider it as a blind-buy. Montales have a reputation for being very potent, though they're also a bit formulaic (given they have about 27 different Aouds), but that said I love Black Aoud.

It's all a matter of whether a fragrance is worth the difference between aorund $20-30 versus around $150, or a strong EDT versus a full EDP.
