Default Any Banana Republic frag fans?

I am thinking of buying one. I haven't smelled them in years but I remember that they all smelled much better than expected. Today I saw some positive reviews about Slate so I may check that one out. I also saw BR Classic at TJ maxx. 2 1.7 ounce bottles for $20.

    Anyone like/use any BR frags?

I remember reading good reviews about one of their fragrances a couple of months back and really wanting to try it but never being able to find it. I am curious about their fragrances.

Black Walnut is pretty good. It smells better than the average clothing store fragrance.

They don't list them on their site. They have: Black Walnut, Slate, Cordova, and W or M. There's one more but I can't remember the name.

I work with an older gentlemen from the US South, and he wears M on a daily basis. It really works for him, but doesn't last on me. It smells nice, though.

I've tried them all and the best one's I've sampled are Slate and Black Walnut. M was really synthetic and was the worst out of the bunch. If you can get them for cheap it's not bad, but in my opinion they're not worth anything near $40.

Black Walnut by Banana Republic - One is initially treated to a fruity, vanillic accord with a boozy and nutty edge, which is very fleeting. Transitioning rather quickly to the waiting heart, dry and rich virginia cedar infuses the semi-sweet brew with its dusty, cedar closet aroma, and pleasantly percolates. A nascent, sweet tabacco pulls the reluctant melange to its awaiting base. A slightly spicy and honeyed tabacco, akin to a pipe tabacco, comes to the fore with the muffled cedar serving as a backdrop. This delightful blend leads to the alluring drydown. Albeit an agreeable composition, its glaring and fatal deficiency is the dearth of any meaningful projection or longevity.

Also a fan of Black Walnut. If I remember correctly, it was released the same year (around the same time as) Burberry London. I think I may have acquired them both on the same shopping trip. It's not London, but for a nice spicy day-to-day, it's good.

Slate, Black Walnut, and Cordova come in some of the classiest fragrance boxes I've ever seen. They're a beautiful wooden box with magnets to hold them together. The inside lining is plush as well. Here's the two I had.

I like Slate. Light grass makes me relax in hot days. Beautiful wooden box and nice price, too.

Count me among the Black Walnut and CLassic fans. The others I tried were certainly wearable. That being said, I don't love any of them enough to pay their retail, in-store price, but if I found them at a steal, I would grab Black Walnut and Classic.
