    Default Tom Ford Neroli Portofino or By Kilian Sweet Redemption

    I find these very similar.

    Is is just me?

    Not that similar to my nose. I find the Kilian much more full bodied and much better overall.

    Sweet Redemption is an orangesicle in the form of a niche fragrance. Very delicious and on my must-have list! Neroli Portofino is a nice one as well, but I would prefer the Kilian over Ford.

    I find these two opposites, especially after the top notes.

    Sweet Redemption - petigrain and orange flower, leading to a heavy, orientalized opoponax. Very sweet, rather complex.

    Neroli Portofino - neroli leading to a clean, white musk. More dry, very simple after the top notes fade.

    Neither are frags I'd shell out for, but I hold Sweet Redemption in high regard, the Tom Ford I like less each time I come across it.

    Thank you for the responses.

    I do agree that Sweet Redemption is sweeter.

    IMO not really, NP is airy not long lasting, transparent and very fresh - A truly a summer winner
    SR in another hand, like the name already states, it is sweet, dense, long-lasting, due to orange flower, although orange flower and Neroli are actually the same raw material, the extraction process of these 2 materials are different, the end result will be in simple terms:

    Orange blossom absolute ends up acquiring somewhat of a sweet, dense aroma;
    Neroli becomes more like an animalic, fresh smell, even sharing some chemical composition with Jasmine;

    I disliked NP so I'd go with SR even though I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
