    Default In the year 2050...

Will people be saying things like

"Is that Acqua Di Gio? You smell just like my grandpa."

    or

"Cool Water/Le Male? That's an old man's cologne."

I don't think so. ADG and Le Male are already 16 years old and they don't smell outdated. Dolce & Gabbana PH is equally old and doesn't smell outdated. They all still smell pretty modern. Green Irish Tweed is nearly 30 years old and it doesn't smell like an old man. In fact, many modern scents try to evoke an older vibe to them. Take Rive Gauche, Tom Ford for Men, Invasion Barbare, and Musc Ravageur for example. They smell like fragrances from another time, yet they were released less than a decade ago. Even with their old school vibes, they don't smell like "old man".

    My money is on "yes."

In 2050, the people that wore aquatics in the 90's and 2000's will be around 60-80 years old. It makes sense that they will remind others of their older relatives (grandpas) in 2050. That is, unless aquatics stay very popular over the next 40 years.

I'm sure they'll discover new aroma chemicals and ways to make perfume. In some Middle Eastern countries they don't wear anything with alcohol in it and work in oils. I'd hope by 2050 everything would be oil based.
As far as some punk telling me "I smell like I'm dead already", they can kiss my old wrinkled butt and eat my 20 sprays of Le Male sillage.

Actually the scent that are being released over the next 20+ years will also be grandpa cologne but I'll be far to old to give a toss (if I make it that far).

Awesome...That made me laugh out loud...The Grandpas will be named Cameron and the Grandmas will be named Kenzie also. It's just hard for me to imagine a grandpa Cameron and a Grandma Kenzie...oh the times they are a changing.

Most aquatics already give me the vibe of stale urine. I revisited Acqua Di Gio after so many years and thought, "God. It's cheap! Smells like the creepy guy at the club."
However, scents like Cool Water, L'eau D'issey PH, GIT, and New West are all older than ADG and yet seem more modern.

There have been numerous documentaries about it, and a major motion picture, and Jesse Ventura's Conspiracy Theory episode on it on the History Channel should be the final nail in the coffin on survival into the year 2013 (except for the elites who move in under Denver airport - I wonder what scents they'll be wearing?)

The same Conspiracy Theory show that accused China has been stealing USA "champagne" water by dragging a gigantic bag across the Pacific ocean without anyone or nations noticing? good lord...

    I saw that one too.
I wondered why the Chinese didn't just put ships at the end of the river - before the water went into the ocean - and grabbed the water for free.
Better yet, why not just collect rainwater back home - it has to be cheaper.

Actually it would be much better if HK could sell the water that we bought from the mainland back to China, since 1988 we have been dumping billions worth of fresh water into the ocean each year just because we couldnt use them all.

Gentlemen, sorry for being OT here.

I was just going to speculate that my "vintage" bottle of Cuba Cactus will be worth thousands.

Of course, I'll be dead in 2050, so it won't matter much to me.

This will only make those water conspiracy theorists angrier - American water being taken by container ships, while billions of gallons go into the ocean back in Hong Kong (and presumably at the end of the Yangtze river too).

Well, now that's just being pessimistic!!

Obv, I don't know how old you are, but humans can live to 120 years old & medical science is improving every year, so who knows what can happen in the next 38 years.

I'd rather be dead, personally. After a certain age, most of us will be out of touch with the ever increasing pace of everyday life, while moaning about the 'good ol' days'. It's bad enough having to endure that when you're 60, let alone 120!
