Default Stuck with finding a good summer/spring fragrance

    Hello!

I've been doing research for 2 weeks what is out nowdays, and I just cant find anything for myself.
Ive been using Clinique Happy for Men, but the longetivity is just 1 hour. Love the scent but sillage and longevity is nothing.

So is there something similar I would like to clinique?

Plus other stuff i've been using : Gucci Pour Homme II , Armani Code Sport, Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet Men, Carolina Herrera Aqua (was not my fave actually).

    So any suggestions?

Plus I dont really like seaish fresh/soapy summer ones.
And I look for a good/great sillage and longlasting summer/autumn/spring fragrance.

    Thanks in advance!

    Live Jazz
    Acqua Di Parma Range
    Ed Hardys Love & Luck.

These are good affordable Summer/Spring fragrances.

Acqua di Parma is a little bit out of my budget right now.
In here they cost around 120 euros.

A good choice with the Burberry Summer 2009. You can also try:

Chanel Edition Blanche (some people complain about longevity but i get 8 hours with solid projection in first few hours)
Diesel Fuel for Life Denim Collection (for Men)
    C. Herrera 212 Men (very grassy, dont blind buy)
Burberry Touch and even Brit (not for very hot weather though)
    Givenchy Play for Men
    Givenchy Very Irrezistible Fresh Attitude
Hugo Boss XY (pretty much the only HB i recommend for trying, except Bottled)
    Guerlain Homme & Homme Intense
    Versace Pour Homme
    Moschino Uomo
Kenzo L'Eau par Kenzo (same as AHED, try on your skin, as you might not be part of the majority that gets poor longevity out of this one)
    Bvlgari pour Homme Extreme
    Dior Homme Sport
Dior Aqua Fahrenheit (it is not aquatic, name is misleading)
    Guerlain Vetiver
    Hermes Terre D'Hermes
Armani Diamonds Summer 2012 (i had the 2010 version and was better than the original in terms of longevity/ sillage; from what i read, 2012 should be pretty much the same)

Well Clinique's got orangy vibe, and the perfect orange fragrance I'd recommend is Orange Sanguine (30ml for $50 from Lucky Scent).
Besides flat out oranges smell, Acqua di Gio maybe cause it's got versatility, smells great, and does the job (though they are making a new so might want to check that out, it gets released next month). Cool Water is another one that's got utility. Azzaro Chrome also (bets spring/summer longevity and projection along with Issey Miyake).
Thing is most of these spring/summer fragrances flat out suck in the projection/longevity department (even most niches you hear people throw around here). You said you don't like soapy and don't want to break the bank so stay away from Acqua di Parma line. Terre also I would never recommend.
Issey Miyake line (my fave from them is Summer 2009) are good, they smell pleasant. Dior Homme Sport and Chanel Allure Sport are also top class scents (they got good projection/longevity).

Honestly it's cliche, and I have recommended this in just about every 2nd post that I post, but Dior Homme. It's versatile, you can wear it in every season, and smells great. It's got spring and fall utility, no problem. In the summer unless it's scorching hot it still smells great (will absolutely do the job in nights too, can't say the same thing for some much lighter scents).

    Sylver thanks!
I got intrested from your suggestions according to reviews online : Moschino Uomo , Versace pour homme, Hugo Boss XY (maybe).

about Issey myake l'eau d'issey , i tried it once on my skin and it smelled like a cheap lemon dishwasher, I was reading so good reviews about it all the time and when I tried thats what it did with my skin I guess, did not like it at all :S

are the summer scents from their house a little sweeter and more natural lemonish?
    like the 2009?

And what you guys think about Mugler Cologne by Thierry Mugler? is it too soapy for me?

2009 is definitely more tolerable than the original, IDK about others. the original has crazy staying power but yeah personally I am not a fan of it, the 2009 version is smooth (the original is sharper) and nicer, though not nearly as long lasting. i think they have similar citruses though.

A lot of the vetivers are cheap (the vetiver oil is not expensive) and if you like vetiver, there is an endless list of options. Great for warm weather. I am also very fond of Live Jazz, which is equally cheap.

Have you considered something like L'Homme Cologne Gingembre or like Declaration Cologne? I find these not too light, but nice and crisp. Perhaps you will too.

Read about L'homme Cologne Gingembre that it doesnt really project and doesnt last long.
Declaration I'll try to get a tester. Since he did the Terre D'hermes which i do like but not for this summer, not now.

Yeah I've seen it around alot for summer/spring etc.
But I'm not sure, heard horror stories about it : softerner, detergent smell, etc.

One of my recent surprise finds is Eau de Iceberg (74) pour Homme. A light vetiver/labdanum, citrus-tinged frag that will not overwhelm, while being quite lasting. On application it smells a bit bland, but several minutes later, beauty blooms.
ointments and perfume delight the heart....

Play by Givenchy - Citrus abounds in the opening, with bergamot, mandarin orange, bitter orange and grapefruit. This wonderful interplay of semi-sweet and semi-bitter flavors, with an undercurrent of woods, is refreshing. The wrestling of the citrus and wood tumbles to its middle. The spicy heart usurps the citrus opening with its pepper, amyris wood and coffee flower, forming a musky, spicy and woody radiance, arousing a sexy aura. The oft-seen patchouli and vetiver base blends with the heart nicely, mellowing the woods and spice, and leads to its alluring drydown. This is a well balanced composition, and has very good longevity and projection.

    &

L'Homme Sage by Divine - As it opens, one is treated to a wonderful, spicy, tropical fruit accord, tempered by a timid amber in the background. As the fruity accord runs its course, this submissive amber warmly steers the scent into its heart, a wetish woodsy and shy semi-sweetness melange. Thence, the somewhat forceful base with its greenness and smokiness pulls this soothing middle, and allows the amber to shine with the oakmoss and incense. A delightful journey, with varied stops along the way, this masterfully blended fragrance has good projection and longevity. Do partake!

Allure Homme Sport and Bvlgari Aqva. I read they were similar here and I have to agree.
