Chris will surely be able to help you out. And for natural perfumery, highly rated by Luca Turin, check out http://www.profumo.it/perfume/home_english.htm which, if I recall, even has an online checklist of notes so you can order a bespoke perfume. Like Chris, he is also a regular contributor to basenotes. He is in Italy, but I am sure he can send to the UK.

Whilst Profumo may ship to the U.K., we may have problems receiving it depending on the carrier used - see under 'UK' in Shopping Guides, where we are awaiting clarification from R.M.'s Chairman's office.
If he uses UPS it may be O.K.
Member David has a new thread showing members' current experiences in 'Male Fragrance'.

    U.K. currently x-raying & destroying scent/not informing sender/recipient.
Anything marked as 'cosmetics' or similar will be treated this way.

Thanks for the kind recommendations guys.

Getting perfume into and out of the UK by post has suddenly become problematic - a consequence of the huge number of planes blown up by unstable perfume and the complete absence of other flammable liquids on aeroplanes I expect.

OMG. I just ordered loads of aroma chems and essential oils from hekserij.

Does this mean that it will be x-rayed and that this definitely destroys the scent?

    Really worried about this now.

X-Rays don't destroy scents (at least not in a general sense) and your order should be fine.

The problem is that perfume based on ethanol is liable to be 'confiscated' by customs (who obviously have nothing else to do, what with being over-staffed, the war on drugs being won, no people trafficking, smuggling and all other border crimes having been eliminated and everything).

After all now that Osama is dead what's a border guard to do except look for perfume-in-the-post?

Confusingly, there are now three threads on this, the first under U.K. in 'Shopping', plus:-

    USPS:-
    http://www.basenotes.net/threads/324...rity-Shipments

    Members' current experiences:-
    http://www.basenotes.net/threads/324...ipping-Perfume

Just posted some lovely stats on the USPS thread!

@Shakster007 - sorry for posting confusingly!

& seems some people have lost attars as they don't know the difference - mumsy is awaiting clarification.

    Profumo says:-
    Quote:-
"Hello Ipp. The free samples come from Lisa of STC by USPS. Just order anything from her and you will be entitled to them.
If you mean about our carrier from Italy, it is UPS."

Feel obliged to include this since I cast aspersions earlier!
