Default Aventus and GIT - Can't live without them

These are two of the most amazing fragrances ever created. I could easily sell all others in my collection and just stick with Aventus and GIT. Absolutely love them. Great longevity and sillage. Classy and easy to wear.

I could live without GIT....sometimes it's too sharp. It makes me feel as if I'm the offensive cologne guy. But I totally agree on Aventus....unless a celebrity copies Aventus and its cheap clone saturates the market. Ugh.

is it the ambergris that helps to tone it down? there is something that has a watery affect that makes it more wearable.

Holy shit, look at my post count! I'm the Anti-Creed!

Seriously, though, Creed fragrances are almost the biggest ripoffs in the fragrance world right now. You keep Spending 400 bucks on bottles of Aventus and I'll get 6 oz of whatever Chanel masterpiece I want for half that. I'll never purchase a Creed fragrance because I just don't think the price matches the quality.

1.25/ml is still more expensive than Bois Des Iles, and you don't have to buy 17 ounces of it to get that price. Your second point is interesting considering you are essentially an Aventus-gargoyle who posts almost exclusively in Creed threads.

Also, Creed's fragrances are alright, it's the dishonest marketing and the inflated pricetag that I hate.

Nah, I'm just not a pompous fragrance snob and troll like you who loves to bash certain Creed fragrances.

I post in threads that discuss fragrances I own and enjoy, which happens to include Creed GIT, Aventus, and MI. I also talk about some of the designers I own too, but I suppose those threads are beneath your level of fragrance snobbery to even bother clicking on.

LOL @ using the same BS excuse of "Creed's marketing and inflated pricetag" to explain your trolling and hatred for Creed. You've clearly stated many times you hate certain Creeds because of its scent... scents the majority of Basenoters love. Be a man stand by your statements.

Continue your trolling. Basenotes need haters like you and your real-life buddy Brian whatever, to keep it interesting. Otherwise, this forum is just filled with a bunch of Creed / Aventus-gargoyles (lol wtf does that even mean?). You keep us in check with your vast knowledge of truly great fragrances and witty, insightful comments!

Can't have a true Creed appreciation thread without haters

I'm neutral btw. I think they are overpriced. Also their website states some BS about all Creed's bought from other sources or at discount are either fake or expired. All of my Creeds (save for my Aventus split) came from discounters and all are legit. As for them being expired? They are all a year or 2 old. Oliver Creed apparently stated that the ideal bottle of Creed should be aged 2 years or something, and the life expectancy is 6-7 years. Anyways...I also happen to think Creeds smell pretty darn good. Especially Aventus!

I finally bought creed aventus, I admit, it smells amazing but is anyone else having a few issues with it? Before purchasing I read reviews of amazing longevity and amazing projection. It wasn't just a few comments, EVERYONE says the same thing.

I sprayed it 3 times this morning, twice to the neck and one on my wrist then I rubbed my two wrists together and rubbed my neck.... I could smell it for the first half an hour

It has been about two hours now and I am feeling extremely underwhelmed. If I put my wrist to my nose I can smell the fragrance but I am not feeling any projection out of it. Am I under-spraying ? Is my body soaking up the perfume?

there must be somebody else having this issue....... anyone ?

I find Aventus very nice but overpriced. On the other hand, I find GIT worth every friggin cent. It's my Scent Of The Morning (yeah, I find most Creeds a bit lacking longevity-wise), and I find it so bright, satisfying and versatile that I am having a hard time trying to understand how anyone could not at least like it.

Please refer to the countless threads on Aventus longevity issues. What you are experiencing is just major olfactory fatigue. Have you noticed people fainting when you enter the room? ;-)

I thought it was olfactory fatigue but I'm not so sure any more. My colleague said he could smell me this morning when I came into the office but after a while said he can't smell it any more. He could be suffering from olfactory fatigue as well but I just feel extremely underwhelmed??

    It does smell fantastic though.

Love GIT, really like Aventus (wearing it today). GIT is an all-timer for me, where Aventus is a flavor of the month. Like many others, I kind of lose the scent of Aventus for my own enjoyment after about 4 hours. GIT stays with me better.

Unfortunately, I recently received a bottle of Millesime Imperial that appears to be faked. It was purchased from a large online discounter who happens to be a big advertiser on this site.

I know packaging can change, but it was different than any other Creed Millesime Imperial box I have seen. The scent was almost sour like. I had a recent tester to compare to and it was not even close. After this experience, at least for Creed products, rather pay full dollar then take a chance with well known on-line discounters.
