Question Can't Get My Head Around APOM Pour Homme

No matter how much I test APOM Pour Homme, I can't get my head around it.
I have an obsession with this fragrance. Almost a love - hate thing going on.

I get an amazing orange blossom note, surrounded by other ingredients which seem to lift the orange blossom note. I have a hard time picking out the musk, cedarwood and even the amber. Out of these extra notes, I mainly get amber, maybe slightly musky, but woody? Hmmm. This seems to be all about the orange blossom.

For me it is complex in its simplicity.
I think this fragrance has more notes in it which are very subtle, but they are there.
Let's not forget that Kurkdjian is not fond of parfumistas.
I don't think he is giving us all the notes.
In the drydown I can pick up a very clear incense note, for example.

The weird thing is, I absolutely hate his other orange blossom creation, which is Fleur du Male.
How can I hate Fleur du Male, and love APOM Pour Homme?

Am I the only one who finds this totally unisex, even more towards the feminine side?
Are there any hardcore APOM Pour Homme fans out there who can tell me something about the reaction non-parfumistas have towards the fragrance?
Does it garner compliments? Have you ever got bad remarks like "you smell bad" or "you smell feminine"?
People around you who absolutely hate or love it?

Have never received any negative remarks the few times I've worn this nor can I remember any compliments. A very nice masculine scent IMO.

Do you also get fantastic longevity and sillage out of it?
It's a projection beast on my skin.

I find both APOM Pour Homme and Femme very long lived with good projection. I also find them very similar . The difference being that light ambery woods but the orange blossom note is the same in both. I would easily and comfortably wear Pour Homme myself.

*** I can't edit my mistakes on Tapatalk . The words after APOM should be Pour Femme.

I am also having problems with posting. Sorry for the double post. The ambery woods I mentioned refers to the Pour Homme Version. I admit sometimes APOM forceomen irritates me as the orange blossom is strident. It's clean orange blossom completely different in style from Serge Lutens baroque Fleurs d'Oranger.

In your opinion, would you like to smell APOM Pour Homme on a guy?
I wish it was a tad more masculine. :/ I still love it though.
By the way, thank you very much for your answer, you are helping me tremendously.

I still think it's a marvelous fragrance will solid construction. Yes it smells fab on a man not effeminate in any way IMHO. I sprayed my husband with it - the male version. Jon Rodgers also wears APOM Pour Homme. Don't hesitate to wear it ,Suppressor ! You smell really good !

** I got on the damned PC - Tapatalk is driving me nuts. *LOL*

    You're most welcome Suppressor.

The orange blossom in APOM is indeed strident, almost cloying.
I still think it is a sensual fragrance though.
This might have been an absolute masculine masterpiece imo if the orange blossom was slightly toned down and paired up with something masculine. The orange blossom might be too clean for me, but his very subtle use of amber and woods is probably what is messing with my head.

Suppressor - I know what you mean but I think being a 'clean' orange blossom saves it from wearing in a very feminine way . It's a genderless ,flexible orange blossom that only Mr Kurkdjian could do.

    This surprises me... nice.
Time to buy an extra sample of it!

So a "dirty" orange blossom fragrance is more apparent in female perfumery, or let's say in "fragrances marketed towards women"...
Interesting, I'm learning a lot here.

Well it's not an indolic sweet full bodied voluptuous heaving bosomed orange blossom note.

I agree with the above, and wear and enjoy APOM pour Homme whenever I want an uplifting fragrance.
    Its composition is excellent.

Initially I disliked APOM pour Homme a fair amount, but I've grown to love it. It took me a while to get my mind around this one.

It's indeed very uplifting and radiant. I also have a hard time picking up the cedar - it's mostly orange blossom and amber to me.

I had a few female friends smell it (non-aficionados), and they all really liked it. I haven't worn it out much, so no unsolicited comments yet, but I don't find this hard to wear at all as a guy. Projection is good on me (which is a minor feat).

I think it's rather fantastic. A contemporary and somewhat minimalist take on orange blossoms.

Don't know... at first i loved it, later i started to find it lacking something...i'll retest it again. I buy MFK official samples, but something keeps me from buying a full bottle.
... And do me a favor - don't disturb my friend. He's dead tired.

    Welcome to the Bwahahaha! era...

I feel it absolutely leans towards the feminine, myself. Rose is like that on me. I also cannot get past the "nail polish" note.

APOM pour homme, turns my stomach and makes me sick must be the orange blossom+amber combo ( i have 5 more samples) which came after i pulled the trigger on Lumiere Noire Pour Homme and Absolute Pour Le Soir; ,i bought a "Room Spray" of APOM at a special rate since i bought two bottles of MFK i was eligible for 60% off - now looks like along with the room spray, the APOM Pour Homme sample needs to be sprayed into the toilet...or room..or warehouse..or wherever..

I like it quite a bit but something in it (the powder?) makes me sneeze, so that takes away from my enjoyment.
