I really like Green Irish Tweed, but I don't like how Creed ripped off Cool Water, which is exactly the same thing except for so much cheaper. What do I do?

GIT released in 1985, but CW released three years later in 1988 so it seems more like CW ripped off GIT.

By the way, what I do not like about Creed is the batch variation as it shows inconsistancy in their products.

Very frustrating. Not only did my flacon that I purchased not smell like the sample I smelled, it now reeks of pure alcohol. I've written them several times and not one reply. Some great product, but not a very customer-friendly company.

Creed was much quicker to ship out their inferior product, whereas the superior minds at Davidoff took an extra 3 years to fine tune and perfect theirs. I stand by my original statement

I purchased a grey market 2008 batch of Aventus from a seemingly reputable ebay source. I smell none of the smoke or ash or pineapple that so many others have commented on. Could this be a fake?

    Dear Creedy,

I have a bottle of Original Santal that I haven't worn in a long time. It's about 4 years old, which is probably more in dog years, but I digress. Anyway, my frenemy, erwin_hating_smart_aleck, says that it's just old stock, but he will help me out by buying it for $20. However, some guy I do not know named KrEEd_FaNBoy says that it's vintage, and he will pay me full price for 90% full. But erwin_hating_smart_aleck says that KrEED_FaNBoy can't be trusted, and probably won't pay me, or will engage in e-Bay shenanigans, which as you know are the *worst* kind.

I asked this old dude, Redneck something, if 4 years old is vintage or just old stock. He gave me some really incomprehensible explanation about something being continuous, and that the fact that there wasn't a clear-cut answer was even more beautiful than Original Santal. Now I'm more confused than ever.

Can you help me out? Should I sell my bottle to erwin_hating_smart_aleck for a guaranteed $20, or risk a sale to KrEEd_FaNBoy? Or should I just keep it because it's my absolute most favorite fragrance, my signature scent, my go-to frag, and my hot girlfriend's favorite fragrance in my wardrobe?

    HEEEEEELP!

For starters you can't have a 2008 batch of Aventus, it was launched in 2010.

I had heard that, but the guy had like 62% positive feedback.
In all seriousness, I purchased mine in a Kron split. 2011 batch and it's fantastic.

I recently purchased two flacons of Creed Windsor but the package arrived this morning and when I unboxed it I was surprised to find it contained the actual 1937 Duke of Windsor in full military regalia, I'm a little concearned about this purchase as when I opened the box there was an immediate smell of alcohol.

If you don't get good longevity and projection out of Creed fragrances, it's your nose.
It doesn't have anything to do with concentration. You simply get nose fatigue.
This is a special technique which Creed has designed for royals and kings who don't like to smell their fragrance the entire time.
Other people around you can smell your fragrance. Even if they don't.

I don't know man, my SMW and MI only last 4 hours tops. It's not my nose. It's not olfactory fatigue. My Aventus, Himalaya, Original Santal, and GIT all last much much longer. In fact, my Hollister Socal EDC lasts longer than MI and SMW. I'm not the only one that gets crap longevity with those two. They just don't last...the batches I have anyway. They smell great, they just don't last long. I've heard of others who get 7 hours out of both, but I've heard many more people say 4 or less hours. The fact that I bought my creeds from a guy in a back alley in the scariest place in town probably has little to do with this.

I heard that Creed asked Creed to make a fragrance called Creed by Creed for Creed. Creed went on a world tour while Creed toured the world in search of Creed's special ingredients requests which included things such as the Shroud of Turin (there was much confusion as Creed mistook Creed, not fully knowing their creed, and Luca Turin was involved and things got ugly).

Then there was further conflict as Creed disliked Creed's usage of the term headspace technology in regards to capturing the shroud's aroma, finding it to be offensive to their creed, and Creed ended up changing their terminology to "Erolfa" (Exactly Recreating OLfactory FAscimiles) including details on how Erolfa was rediscovered as it was actually a technique first used by the personal perfumer of Ferdinand Magellan during his inaugural circumnavigation of the earth to capture with perfect accuracy the scent of the Strait of Magellan.

The true 1st generation Creed Master Perfumer Jerome Henry Creed, who was later removed from Creed canon due to his origins as a slave (and, Bond No. 9 fans will likely toss in their oh-so-typical allegations that it was because he was black), had developed the technique while serving under Ferdinand. Jerome could not write, but thankfully Magellan's scribe made note of the technique, using only the finest South Pacific giant squid ink and vellum crafted from the skin of a calf slaughtered exactly at midnight on the vernal equinox of the year 1500. This parchment was thought forever lost. Then, one day, and entirely out of the blue, it was given to Creed by Creed after they had received it from a groupie in exchange for backstage passes.

It is a little known fact that Erolfa, the fragrance created by Olivier, is actually his homage to the true torch bearer of the house of Creed, Jerome Henry Creed. In fact, he was so moved by the story that he named his children (ERwin and OLivia) after Jerome's masterful technique, and immediately ended his romantic relationship of 12 years with a woman named Lauren. He then became a bachelor, entirely celibate for 6 years and turning down hundreds of women whose names did not fit into what he believed was a divinely inspired naming scheme, before he finally met Fabienne (FAbienne) in the front row at a Creed concert. The rest, as they say, is history.

So I'm just curious because I got a bottle of Creed by Creed for Creed batch #A3666G01C and I think it might be fake. There's no Shroud of Turin note, just a lot of ash. Also the 666 in the batch has me worried I don't think Creed would let Creed do that is this some kind of joke by Laurice Rahme or something?

    1. The bottom says Davidoff Cool Water Eau De Toilette on the bottom of the bottle. That made me a little suspicious, but I think it's just b/c it's a grey market bottle.

    2. The batch number is 99005758F3

    3. There is not a white ring beneath the sprayer cap, only a black one.

    4. Another thing to note is that the sticker appears to be a sticky note and I'm not 100% sure, but the writing on it seems to be handwritten with a pen. The CREED logo looks perfect though.

So does that mean I have a fake? FML.

Looks good to me. A lot of grey market bottles look like that. I think you should be fine. Judge it by the juice, not the look.

Not possible. I've tried. Sometimes, I'll have my wife get on the roof and spray it down on me like rain...by the time it gets to me, it's almost completely dissipated, but it still lasts for at least 12+ hours. I think the only solution is to boil it in a pot on the stove and just walk by, hoping the vapor is sufficient.

My creed bottle farted this morning. Are they supposed to have flatulence to relieve bottle pressure? I keep it in a dark cool area.

This is the best idea ever ! The only thing better would be to have a bug report-sub forum.

Hate to do this but I need to ask a serious question: Are there any Creeds that I need to try that I may have escaped during my sampling. I have bought and love: GIT, Aventus and Himalaya. I've tried but unlikely to buy: IM, SMW, VIW, BdP, Erolfa, Neroli Sauvage, Original Santal, Original Vetiver and TM.

So I heard that the right batch of Aventus makes you grow taller, and gives you huge biceps and a 6 pack. I had a sample and it seemed to be working so I went ahead and bought a 2000ml flacon (specially made for me by Olivier Creed) but the juice from the flacon doesn't seem to be having the same effect so I'm thinking it's a different batch than my sample. Now it was delivered by someone claiming to be Napoleon reincarnated who rode a horse to my house to give it to me so here's the dilemma: Do I return it to Creed or should I try to contact Napoleon? He left me an address where I could mail him something via carrier pigeon but it's not recognized by the Postal Service.

This is great! I didn't know we had a CREED sub-forum. It's about time, as CREED has the best frags out there. I have Al-Rehab Silver, which smells nearly identical to CREED SMW, but the SMW cost about 10x the price and lasts much less, so I know that CREED only uses top-notch ingredients and is superior. Yeah, there is some batch inconsistency with CREED frags, but do you expect a 1973 vintage Bordeaux to taste the same as a 1975? Please. The price and inconsistency are a testament to quality of all CREED frags. If you're paying less than $150 for a bottle, you're not getting CREED quality!
