    Default Dior Leather Oud

I recently purchased a 5ml sample of Leather Oud and it smells great! My problems with it seems to be longevity and projection. I'm going to give it a few more wearings before making a final judgment.

What other fragrances should I give a try with leather and oud as the notes? I currently have Montale Aoud Cuir d' Arabie and find it amazing also but again lacking in longevity and projection.

    Thanks for the assistance.

Oh my god! This one is strong and long lasting on me. Although I don't have that Montale, I have never met a Montale without longevity.

I don't think its a case of Olfactory Fatigue but could have been. I'll give it a few more tries as maybe my nose was just off those few days I wore it.

Both of the fragrances you mention have above average longevity. And precisely because of their strength they can cause habituation more quickly. Try applying them as far from your nose as you can, e.g. wrists, belly.

I don't have any problems with Leather Oud's longevity either. Montale Moon Aoud has leather in the notes, but there's a lot going on in that one.

Yup, I agree with what everyone else has written: I've found that Leather Oud has very good longevity and above-average projection.

Yep, lasts 8+ on me, and the civet note really comes out in the later stages.

Out of my 130 or so perfume, this lasts and projects from the top 5. I spray 1/4 less with this one.

My theory about some decants getting awry materializes further....

It doesn't project like a beast but there's no longevity issues for me. Sometimes it causes olfactory fatigue due to it's smokey nature imo. Give a full wearing and you will smell it on yourself next day

Going to give it another full wearing tomorrow. I really did enjoy the fragrance though.

I've not tried it, but to those who have - does it project more and/or last longer than Epic Man?

Just echoing others here, but this one lasts pretty well on me. Good scent, and very affordable when compared to other oud scents of comparable quality.

That stuff has a deathgrip on my skin. I don't think you'll have many other options. In a similar vein are Xerjoff XJ Homme and Clive Christian C. Many would probably argue that they are better fragrances (and their prices reflect it). You could try them out and see whether your skin gobbles them up similarly.

I would say they are comparable in terms of longevity. Epic on me has fantastic projection, and I think Leather Oud may sit a little closer to the skin. I wouldn't really say they are very similar though.

If you could draw a map that featured both Harrods Oud and Puredistance M, I think Leather Oud would be somewhere near the midpoint.

I'm the guy that's always bitching about crappy longevity. Leather Oud lasts all day on me. You might want to ask a friend if they can smell you. I'm putting some big bucks on olfactory fatigue, and I've never said that to anyone before. Or a bad sample?
    There's no other explanation.

It is a real beast! Spraying from a big bottle is different from what u get in a sample or deccant! If you like a good leather-oud combo and don't mind the price tag treat yourself with Clive Christian's C for men, a master piece! Or give Tom Ford's a chance with his Tuscany-leather, very good too.

Leather Oud. I don't find PureDistance M to be skanky and I doubt the Harrods Oud is skanky either.

Actually, I find Harrods Oud to be skankier. It is uncharacteristically daring for a Bond No. 9. It might just be because the composition is a little more spare, but it allows the barnyard aspect of the oud to seep out a little more apparently.

Agreed, LO is the skankiest of these. I find the Harrods, a wonderful scent, to be a fairly smooth oud.

Very interesting. It now garners more appeal to me.

I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
