Default Excluding Creed, Bond, and Tauer - Best all around, year around, niche under $150?

What should I be looking at? Any particular house or line? I'd like something I can wear year around. Other things to consider:

I don't like vetiver as a dominant note

    I don't like tonka

My faves are GIT, SMW and TDH.

    Your thoughts?

The under $150 stipulation automatically excludes most Creeds, Bonds and Tauers... Under $150 is pretty difficult to find a niche scent, that's why I don't have any. I have sampled a pseudo-niche that isn't Creed, Bond or Tauer; it's called Geir Ness and it's quite good, it does have a vanilla-tonka-ish note which you may dislike, though.

Penhaligon- I'd wear Endymion and LP No. 9 any time

L'Artisan- Mechant Loup, Tea for Two, I'm not a Timbuktu fan but I guess that could work

    Comme Des Garcon's incense series

    Annick Goutal - Sables/Duel/Mandragore Pourpre/Encens Flamboyant

Serge Lutens is good, but for 50 ml they are quite expensive. From 80 euro to 95 and above. Double that amount of money for 100 ml and will be expensive as hell.

Another recommendation for Comme Des Garcons. Hinoki, or 2 Man

I'd say also CDG, eg CDG2 man, a nice lemony smoky incense. Also, Etat Libre d'Orange (it costs $95): Je suis un homme (more classical) or Tom of Finland (smooth saffrony leather).

Don't know what $150 gets you States-side, but for that you could easily get Chanel Sycomore or Le Labo Rose 31 over here. Both niche (depends how you define that exactly) and definitely all year round scents. I would go with Sycomore.

Well, I think that the 75ml or 100 ml, whatever the smaller size Chanel Exclusifs may hover around the $150? I paid $200 for my 200ml Coromandel.

Penhaligons is a good line, yup. English Fern could be year round, and so could Sartorial.

Some Montales can be had for less than $150.00 - may want to try Red Vetiver as it is similar to TdH but to me, better, and projects more.

Timbuktu is a very good all-year-round.

Voyage D'Hermes isn't technically a nice fragrance but it can definitely be worn all-year-round. It is based around clean musk and maintains sort of an airy feel many Jean Claude Ellena's fragrances have.

Heeley's Cardinal is like a watery incense. I would wear it more as a fall fragrance but I can definitely see it as an appropriate winter or summer scent.
