IMO anyone could be used for those seasons, but I'll choose Bois Du Portugal.
seeing the other thread on the best creed fragrance for summer got me wondering what is the best fragrance for fall/ winter. I will be purchasing my winter fragrances soon so would love to hear what you all think.

...Millésime Mal à la Tête...?
Aventus works well for me in the winter (as well as other seasons). Likewise, GIT is great in cooler weather.
Royal Oud.
Speaking for me, I like Silver Mountain Water and Himalaya in winter. They have a coldness about them that lends itself to that time of year.
Life's a bitch. If it were a slut it'd be easy.
X2 on royal oud. I like smelling warm and spicy during fall and winter evenings
Get some samplers on eBay and pick the one you like. We can't know what would best reflect the winter you. That said, Green Irish Tweed has a nice warm sitting by the fire in tweed feel to it and all my favorite old movie stars wore it...bespoke of Carry Grant.
Royal oud
Another vote for Royal Oud. Although Baie de Genievre is excellent as well. And I agree that Aventus would work well in the fall/winter.

If I had to choose one only
Royal Oud
Looks like royal oud is the clear winner so far, just a shame that it has a higher price tag! I think I may stick with original santal and GIT this winter
aventus comes alive with warmth and freshness in the fall winter.. Himalaya also goes great on a cold day. I find smw goes great in hot weather .. However git is my dressy scent all year round .. My wife grades them as 1. aventus 2 git 3 smw 4 himalaya. I find the bigest complement getter is smw and aventus .. they are tied.. I work in health care and women just go crazy for smw and aventus. All four scents are my favorite and are very clean. Surprisingly Himalaya gets a lot of complements from women saying how mellow it is and unique. I love them all!!

I like GIT in the summer, but it's a nice changeup in this cooler weather. The OS sample I had was nice enough a couple weeks ago. But if I could only pick one (of the ones I've tried), I'd go with Bois du Portugal. Very, very nice.

1. GIT.
2. Royal Oud.
3. Baie de Genievre.
But I also occasionally wear VIW and MI in the dead of winter, for a fun break. They smell too good to relegate to summer.
