    Default Mona Di Orio Oud

Was out doing some smelling at great niche fragrance shop in Scottsdale, looking for an oud that struck me. Was thinking at first, maybe one of the Montale Aouds (I like black and red aoud the best out of the line). I ran across Mona Di Orio Oud; after about 5 minutes on my skin the osmanthus and oud just leaps out at you. I looked around and tested many others but always went back to my hand to check the progression from almost a woodsy hay oud to a ambery gentlemens oud. Long story short, ended up with a beautiful oud and one the best box/bottle presentations i've seen.

Was ambivalent about it when I tried it the first time, but liked it much better the second time.

Enjoy it. It is a very beautiful perfume. As it's still like winter where I am, I wore it yesterday. So warm and elegant, with just that touch of skank that Mona did so well.

Congrats on the fragrance! I'm really aching to buy some Mona Di Orio Oud, but it's too much for just myself. I would like to do a split in the future though.

My favorite oud so far - I find this an enormously appealing fragrance, and I am very far from being an oud person.

I've been wearing it a lot in the last couple of months, this is one of the only ouds I feel like I can pull off in the summer. I find that I pick up more of the osamanthus / petit grain and less of the Oud after more and more wearings.

Thumbs down Re: Mona Di Orio Oud

Mona di Orio Osmanthus.Expensive, overrated, to many ingridients. It was the greatest disappointment about the NICHES . After 50min-1 hour the others cant smell also any,
and me too. Never would to have again!

I tried this from a Luckyscent sample. It was uber barn-yardy on me. I'll pass on this one.

Mona's Oud is still the best rendition I've come across so far......and I've been steadily trying and buying ouds for awhile now.

The price point sucks for sure, but it smells great......so......you either pass on it or dig deep and get it.

Definetely one of the better ouds
People waste so much time wearing no fragrance. As for me, in every step that I have taken in life, I have been accompanied by an exquisite fragrance.

Back when it came out I blind participated in a split... I kept the bottle presentation (nice! for those who care about such things). I didn't have performance issues rather I simply couldn't come to grips with the osmanthus overload. Came off as nothing remarkable... more like a variant of JHL or something along those lines rather than a good oud fragrance. .. not at all surprised when they changed the name. Ended up selling the portion for half.

Xerjoff - Najaf/Zanzibar does the oud/osmanthus coupling much more to my liking, with more emphasis on an appealing oud (a great sandalwood note too).

Not a fan of Mona's oud.
