    Default Father's day gift suggestions?

So, what might be some good fragrance(s) for a Father's Day gift? I'm quite new to the whole fragrance scene (outside of common Axe and Old Spice kind of stuff).

My Dad is going to be 60 this year, he's a kind of casual/business type.

His signature scent has been Herrera For Men by Carolina Herrera for years -(http://www.basenotes.net/ID26120774.html)

He likes the smell of Hugo Boss #6, and PR's 1 Million. Any suggestions of a sophisticated, mature daily wear kind of scent that's suitable for dinners, business meetings, and just strolling around going shopping?

    Thanks!

Pleasures for Men by Lauder it's a good choice. My father had it for many years and he liked it a lot!

Ferre for men. Its a classic that gets no talk around here but it smells of class, money and power.

Trust me and buy Azzaro Pour Homme, some might argue this is one of the greatest frags ever made, perfect for your dad's age, can where anywhere/anytime and he'll love it if he loves Herrera for Men. My dad has been wearing this one for over 30 years. Much more age appropriate than say 1 Million and plus it only sets you back $30 on Amazon

Azzaro is a great choice. I might also go with Rive Gauche or Eau Sauvage.

Any of these are great. All good masculine frags, and safe.

    Get:

Colonia Assoluta by Acqua di Parma - Upon application, one is treated to a deluge of citrus. Orangey and slightly peppery bergamot, sweet and bitter orange, as well as lemon-scented verbena, all interplay in a sparkling, citric accord. This invigorating accord is showered by various spices, namely, a somewhat spicy and aromatic cardamom, a fruity and creamy, pink pepper, as well as a smooth and spicy, chili pepper. This diffusive brew percolates a bit, and meanders to the heart. Here, florals infuse the stimulating opening. A tutti-frutti jasmine, a sweet rose, a dusty orchid, and a sweetly balsamic and exotic ylang-ylang immerse the citrus mix. A faint undercurrent of spicy cedarwood carries the morphed melange to the base. Here, the cedarwood comes into its own, imparting its cypress-ish facets with their woody and piney aura. Patchouli adds its earthy and slightly musty aspects, while white musk imbues its faint soapiness. Magical amber supplies a somewhat dark and sweetish shading of resins and woods as well. The confluence of the forgoing leads to a comforting drydown. A truly unisex composition, it is higly versatile, and will accommodate a suit and tie as well as gentlemanly casual attire. This high-quality and elegant Eau de Cologne has good projection, a 2-3 hour, scent cloud before passing to a skin scent, and good longevity, at least 7 hours, and will shine in spring, summer, and fall.

I finally got hold of vintage M7 only for my dad to approve of the smell and effectively say "I love that, that is me, I'm having it."

My dad is 56 and that's his fragrance of choice now...

Older men don't have to use "older fragrances" and young men don't have to use "younger fragrances". Just sayin'.

The choice depends on his taste and his attitude and his youthfulness, and on what he likes of course.

Get him a gift certificate to Sephora (or a department store with a good selection of fragrances) and let him choose his own scent!

(And a sample pack of various scents might be good to get him thinking about what he likes.)
