Default Anyone else notice less coconut in Creed Virgin Island Water

I've been purchasing VIW ever since it came out 5 years ago in 2007?
Today, all I smell is lime.

People use to always comment "someone smells like coconut."
    I never hear that anymore.

Is it nose fatigue on my part?

With Creed you never know if one ingredient is going to be more prominent or not due to batch variations. Many different Creeds suffer from this. Maybe you can obtain a sample and compare the scent with your bottle to be sure. Or simply try to get the fragrance exchanged or refunded.

My most recent bottle is still very strong in coconut.

I just got my new bottle from fragrancenet yesterday and the initial 5-10 minutes is a heavy dose of lime/citrus.. Following that. it tames down in to a very smooth blend of the coconut/lime/rum combination.

I guess I have to take back what I said. Yesterday, I was outside of a church lingering near the entrance. Along saunters up a partially blind fellow complete with sunshades and the long, white tapping cane. All of a sudden he just said aloud, "I smell coconuts!!" A6210m02.

I agree with you OP, but I'm basing it off samples. The new batches seem to be just too sweet for me.

Anyone know where I can purchase the 2008 batch? It seems everything made after 2008 has almost zero coconut IMHO. I doubt the Creed Boutique has 2008 batches, and most sellers on ebay dont even bother to list batch numbers.

I get quite a bit I coconut from mine. Despite minor batch variations which are probably minuscule I think people experience something similar to a placebo effect where it's mainly in their mind.

i got the same batch from Fragrancenet as a 2.5 oz tester. It is indeed horrible, with absolutely NO COCONUT!!

It's not all in my head, but thanks for the compliment

i certainly wouldnt refer to them as "minor" batch variations.

I have C6211Z01, and the coconut is SOOOOO strong, with the sharp lime in the background. And it's also pleasantly sweet, and my girl told me it lasted 8hrs on her skin when I sprayed it on her. Really, I get lots and lots of coconut, no suntan lotion vibe whatsoever, and the lime dies down after the first hours or so. In a nutshell, much more coconut than the tester I tried at my local store.

I recently tested at a nearby Nordstrom hoping to get the coconut everyone talks about, but smelled only lime. ?? Did not think to look at the batch number of the tester.

LupeX and richfisher6969 both had batch# C6211Z01 and they both said the coconut note was NON-existent. I found the same to be true with my 2012 batch. It's all lime.

Hopefully the 2013 batches of Creed Virgin Island Water will "ramp up" the coconut note, like it was in 2007 when it first came out. It's not worth buying if it's just pure lime.

They should come out with a coconut-extreme version.

Isn't your "most recent" bottle your ONLY bottle from 2007? LOL
