I don't remember getting that vibe when I tried it.

Any recommendations? I'm looking for fall/winter. Leaning towards masculine, and preferably decent projection.

I smelled tea for two but I get more of a dark tea feeling from it.

Yes, I think you will need to give 5 O' Clock a try. It's a nice frag, and of course, a Lutens.

One other worth a sniff in this area could be Caron's L'Anarchist.

Both of these have better than average projection, at least for me.

Try Theorema by Fendi if you can find it. It's rich, comforting and gingerbread-y to some extent.
I may also suggest Ginger Musk by Montale, but you really have to try it on your skin. It smells like candied ginger on me.

Bois des Iles (Chanel) is a classic sandalwood with a reputed 'gingerbread note' inside it. EDT or Extrait both good.

Parfumerie Generale "Un Crime Exotique" - this one is liquid gingerbread. Check out if you dare to wear it.
