    Question Vintage Aramis question

I've seen some bottles of Aramis that say "Cologne" instead of "Eau de Toilette".

Of the "Cologne" bottles, some come in the tortoiseshell patterned box, and others with another foil/metallic smoky pattern.

Does anyone know if either of these presentation changes coincided with a reformulation? I'm looking for a bottle that has pre-restriction levels of oakmoss. What do I need to look for to know I have the old stuff?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'd chose splash Cologne (made in USA)

Bit strange with regard to longevity, I have Lauder for men which is cologne, HOWEVER, this stuff lasts all day, and yet EDT is supposed to last longer, just dont get it???

"Cologne Spray" on US made scent bottles, means the same as European "EDT".
In general, bottles labelled "Eau de Cologne" from European manufacturers are the weaker strength versions of their respective EDTs.

    Thanks for the comments, gents.

Being an American house, I think Lauder called their men's fragrances "cologne" in the past in order to not turn off guys that would see an Eau de anything as too perfumey-sounding. I assume that at some point they decided that EdT is well accepted in the US market, so they started labeling their men's fragrances that way.

What I'm wondering is whether anyone knows what prior presentation is certain to coincide with an older (full oakmoss) formulation of the juice.

I have seen my dads 80s vintage, dried up splash bottle recently and it just says "Cologne" at the bottom under Aramis.

    Default Vintage Aramis question

I suppose I'll just buy a bottle that says "Cologne". Most seem to be splash bottles, and I'm a bit hesitant. Maybe if I put "vintage" in the thread title I'll get more input?

    Yeah guys.

Anybody know what year Aramis last used this box and bottle design?

    Thanks.

Don't know when they stopped using that box and bottle but I remember seeing it in the late 60s.

Thanks. I was guessing this one's pre-1990 or something. Bought this along with Eau Sauvage with 117ml printed on the box, from an antique dealer.

    Older stuff.

This one's strong. I dabbed both my wrists with it and I knocked the head back of a fastfood cashier when I paid for my food. Haha.
