A warm farewell to one of the greatest master perfumers who ever contributed to the art of scent.

Your creations are timeless and always will be...your taste always impeccable. Generations after us will only know from reading and "time-capsuled" bottles.

I am not yet 40 and know that life is short and precious. You have made memories of mine more special and I still consider some of your fragrances THE masterpieces of my lifetime.

Your journey in life touched many of ours and, for that, I am so deeply thankful.

The marketing tagline for one of your signature scents - Gucci Pour Homme Original (1976) was, "There can never be too much elegance in your life..." I truly believe this and your life and the creations you gave to us embody that.

May you Rest In Peace, Monsieur Guy Robert.

The great book of perfume must include the works of Guy Robert. His family lineage stemmed from an illustrious group of perfumers who made their own individual stamps since the evolution of Francois Coty and commercial perfumery.

Guy's blends set a precedent for elegance, structure, finesse and nuance. His personality was suave, debonair and his rapier wit could slice one down the middle if one wasn't careful.

His partnerships with Michael Edwards and other fragrance houses could only enrich their works with a tedious eye and nose.

I will miss his correspondence, his phenomenal fragrances and his humour.

I feel so lucky to have experienced his scents...my favourite perfumer.
