Like.. the hell? This has a bunch of good reviews on the frag directory too. I'm tempted to buy it just because it's 18 bucks.

Maybe they had a glut of these in their inventory or perhaps for them it was a slow mover and they want to get rid of it, or could even be an error in the listing.

Simple answer... It sucks. More in depth answer... English Leather is far superior and a classic. But then again, it's just my opinion.

Because it's discontinued and they want to clear the warehouse. It's also terribly uninteresting. The edgy rock vibe they're going for is silly. A pleasant, generic amber with not much dirt to be found.

It smells like Petrol, not many places you could wear this scent. And the clincher is that the longevity is terrible, struggle to get 1 hour from this. Nice bottle though.

Dirty English is fantastic! Don't listen to the haters. It smells like a much more expensive scent. It smells woody and leathery and bad! Not Michael Jackson bad, but Bruce Willis bad. Like a badass! If you don't wear leather chaps and a leather jacket and smoke Lucky Strikes and drive a customized harley with skull and crossbones decals then this isn't for you junior. Ok, that's not true. But that's what it smells like. It smells like a bad boy. It's not a pretty boy scent like Armani Code or Calvin Klein Eternity. It's a mature, whiskey swillin', bar brawlin', lady killin' man's man kind of scent. Plus the bottle is heavy enough to kill somebody with in a fight to the death and the cap is bad ace. For $18 you could do much MUCH worse than Dirty English. Longevity and projection aren't the best though.

I like it, other than the apparent iso e super overload, which seems to ruin it for me. It may be that some inventory had to be unloaded. Remember the Horizon dump at the dollar stores several months ago? I like DE more than TdH, but that isn't saying much. My guess is that it will become a lot more expensive on ebay in a year or so (from my experience). Also, some have claimed that it was reformulated badly, so I suggest that those who buy it make sure they get the original (if it says EA Fragrances on the label on the bottom of the bottle I think that is the reformulation).

It's a poor man's Gucci Pour Homme I and you can't get much cheaper than $18 a bottle for a 3.4 oz bottle. Buy it.

Get Dirty English by Juicy Couture while you can, it's discontinued.
A good, manly scent for year round, it's somewhat spicy and woody with loads of a masculine-smelling, leather vibe. Projection and longevity are pretty good too.

This. Also the bottle, name, and I'd assume, brand, doesn't help much. Always reminded me of something you would see in the shop window of a goth/punk/metal shop.

Those aren't very good numbers, that means that almost 1 in 3 people gave it a negative/neutral rating. Fact is, it smells like crap. There's a good reason why it's been discontinued and heavily discounted.

I agree with the majority of posters so far. I thought Dirty English was terrible. I say, save your money and put it towards something better, even at those prices.

I actually struggled to give mine away- 3rd time lucky in the end.

Dirty English is great. I bought 2 (100ml) bottles for $17.95 to add to the tester I already had. It does smell like Gucci pour Homme (and also Zirh Ikon), though doesn't last as well as the Gucci. Go for it!!!

Seems to be a pretty split crowd so far. Count me in with the folks who say..... buy, buy, buy!

I realize this isn't exactly splendid quality, but for $18 / 3.4oz I would say why not. I do find this rather wearable, especially as a scent where the situation calls for a subtle, inoffensive, low-key scent that others might not even be able to smell (yes, I do find myself in those scenarios more and more often). It does indeed seem to be loaded with Iso E Super, but this is something that my nose has ignored from the beginning and makes it what it is. Overall, it's a cheapie that seems worth it and if one finds it absolutely dreadful they're only out some small change.

I asked some girls at work what they thought of Dirty English. One said it smelled like a man whore but in a good way and the other girl said it smelled like Colin Farrell. It got positive remarks from those girls so I think it's worth a shot.

I have seen this going cheap. I suspect it's being discontinued and they're liquidating stock. Can't confirm this though.

It was discontinued last year. Juicy Couture disbanded their entire men's line which was called Dirty English, so naturally the cologne went away with it.

I agree with those who say it is very cheap because of marketing and inventory moves by the company.

The Dirty English brand by Juicy Coutoure was discontinued in 2009 after the head designer for men's products (Dirty English) left the company. Liz Clairborne (new owner of Juicy Couture) was not able to make Dirty English Men's brand fly like the women's products - so it was dropped. Upon letting go of Dirty English as a promoted brand, they decided to unload inventory at close out prices - thus the low prices we see everywhere. As is the case with most brands, once it is sold at cut rate prices it repositioned the fragrance and brand as "cheap" and the nicer stores stopped carrying it. It is a classic textbook downward spiral to the death of a brand that has been encouraged by the brand owners who stopped putting new energy and money into it.

Juicy Couture is also one of the most copied and counterfeited brands in fashion history. There is speculation that some of the fragrance hitting shelves at discount prices might also be knocked off - counterfeited - which has served to flood the market. If it is a copy this doesn't necessarily mean the quality is any worse, or different, it may be the same (often brands are stolen directly from or by the factories that made the product for the brand owner). The idea that there are counterfeit Dirty English fragrance is purely speculation at this point caused by the extensive counterfeiting of the women's wear line.

^ Very informative and good post. Thanks Buzzlepuff.

With regards to my opinion, I just was not that impressed with Dirty English. I've been seeing this one cheap for years ( and fragrances are usually pricey where I live, so I wanted to give this as much of a chance as possible).

At best, you could say it is a poor mans woodsy cedar fragrance ( Gucci pour Homme 2003 ? ). But many of those are fragrances I like ( Tumulte), love ( the Gucci) or admire ( Rochas Lui). So a nose more familier with the genre will become fixated on the differences, and moreso, what Dirty English lacks( a strong accord, oopmh, pleasure, white pepper smell, notes being emphasised, ginger smell, quality ingredients...etc).

Worst of all, I feel longevity and radiance is much bellow acceptable level to me. But in the end, I really don't like the fragrance overall and no matter how cheap in price a fragrance is, its would be a waste ( for me).
Seeking: Bottles/decants : of Pomegranate Noir, Midnight in Paris EDP, Feeling Man, Essence of John Galliano, Azzaro pour Homme (vintage),...etc.

Seeking decant/sample of Aramis Calligraphy Rose, Penhaligon's Esprit de Roi, PdE Ambre Russe, Jil Sander Feeling Man ....etc. I have samples to swap.

This scent is like Marmite, you love it or you hate it.

I find it a nice woody, spicy leather. Nothing to say "Wow" over, but pleasant enough.
