The Different Company - Sel de Vetiver.
Not sure about the difference between aquatic and oceanic? Three great oceanic scents:
TDC Sel d' Vetiver
Voyage d' Hermes
Heely Sel Marin
Some others that could pass for "aquatic" and are very good too:
Molecule 03
SL L' Eau Froide
Andree Putman Preparation Parfumee
Quicksilver Pour Homme
Agar Aura Aquatica
Ferre Bergamatto Marino

Bvlgari Aqua.
If popularity is not a factor, AdG hands down
I'm not a big fan of aquatics, but my wife loves them so I have to wear them occassionally to please her. Out of those that I do enjoy, Aqva and Aquva Marine top the list. Cool Water used to be up there, then I smelled GIT and now can't stand how synthetic CW smells.

Millesime Imperial, Fahrenheit Aqua, Bergamatto Marino, Nautica Voyage
Bvlgari Aqua Pour Homme
Azzaro Chrome
Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey Pour Homme
Creed Millesime Imperial
Sel Marin
Orcas
I have Nautica Voyage on tight now, I also recommend Creed's Erolfa.

Considering Sel Marin but I live in San Diego... can I get opinions on this situation? Is Sel Marin worth buying for me? Also thinking about Millisime Imperial!
I never really thought of MI as an aquatic, but I can kind of see why it might be considered one with the watery melon and salt. It would be my number one choice. Sel Marin is an amazing Oceanic fragrance, it literally smells like being on the water along the south coast of France. Both exceptional and worth a sampling.
I'd say Kenzo pour homme and Cool Water are good. Acqua di gio is good too, but a bit faint.
I adore your cynicsm
Kenzo PH - weirdly unique
Boss Elements Aqua - not fresh, but very smooth, reminds of warm rain in an urban area where it's mixed with concrete
Fahrenheit Aqua - like Boss EA, not a typical fresh fragrance
And then there are always mentioned for obvious reasons -
Bvlgari Aqua
L'eau d' Issey
Acqua di Gio
Davidoff Cool Water - albeit not strictly aquatic but rather aromatic fragrance
Davidoff Adventure Fraiche - really nice one and off the radar, although wouldn't say it's aquatic
Guerlain L'eau
On a recent trip to Florida these 3 worked really well for me.
Erolfa
Millesime Imperial
Bvlgari Aqva
Hard work never killed anyone, but why risk it?
Bergamotto Marino is quite nice.
Most other scents I don't like.. but I don't mind, except for Aqua Motu.... that stuff is vile!
Heeley Sel Marin definitely very natural smelling and quality aquatic
Can second Sel Marin, Creed MI and Erolfa, as well as Eau d'Issey. And Erolfa is for the seaside indeed, especially the pre-reformulated version on cooler days.
Millesime Imperial
Sel Marin
Erolfa
Bulgari Aqua
I'll add Inis Energy of the Sea since it was once one of my favorites and I've not seen it mentioned.
All already mentioned several times, but my 3 favorites would be:
Heeley Sel Marin
Acqua di Gio
Nautica Voyage
Ocean by Bath and Body Works. By far the best of their own brand offerings for men. A genuine aquatic that smells superb and is true to the genre. Any man willing to wade through the girl-iest store at the mall to find the men's section will be well rewarded for it with this and their C O Bigelow range of shaving and grooming products.
I visit this store almost weekly and they know me embarrassingly. I'm either getting Japanese Blossom foaming hand soap for the house or travel hand lotions for my daughters. I also load up on these men's body washes. I enjoy almost all if them but haven't purchased the scents. They have a new one called Paris that is OK. I might try one for a weekend scent
As for the thread..Bulgari Aqua

just grabbed Inis by Fragrances of Ireland. $45 for 3.3oz (cheaper online but I was supporting a local store). Its a zesty marine citrus frag. kinda like L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme without the woods. I love salty/ozonic scents and this fits the bill.
Davidoff Cool Water

Lalique Pour Homme
Are there any aquatics that aren't really sharp? In everything that I've tried there has been a horrible sharpness that I can't stand. Even Nautica Voyage has it, and MI just smells like Neutrogena Acne ointment to me.
I'm so surprised that Kenzo Pour Hommedoesn't get more love. Its one of the best, even if its not heavily fruity like Aqua di Gio. I'm also partial to Subtil Pour Homme by Salvatore Ferragamo.
Winter Rotation:
Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo
Byredo Black Saffron
John Varvatos Original
Dior Homme Intense
Versace Man
Calvin Klein Euphoria Intense for Men
If smelling good was a crime, I'd be serving a lifetime sentence....
