Default Cartier Declaration Cologne. Worth trying?

The regular and Essence version of Declaration is among my top favorits. I have never tested the Cologne version. Is this a summer / casual version of the regular? Does it have an EDC or EDT strength, and is it worth having in my "Declaration Collection" among the other two? Thanks for your oppinion!

I enjoy the original and Essence but didn't really care for the Cologne. I prefer the Eau Genereuse flanker to it.

Is that flanker still in production?

No but I bought mine years ago on eBay.

I like both the Eau de Genereuse and the Cologne. The EdG is minty, the Cologne is more citrusy.

I like the Cologne, which is edt strength, for its ginger note. Unisex, in my book. And yes, nice for summer.

I like the blue colored version of essence. I think there are four ?

Cartier itself is worth checking out as a perfume house. Quality varies between scents but IMO Declaration Essence is one of the better ones. There is a "shwetty balls" note in it that didn't work on me.

I just ordered a bottle of Eau Genereuse from Beauty Encounter.... so they have it in stock.

I have Cartier Declaration and like it a lot, it reminds me of a less refined Bigarade Concentree. Both are JCE creations.

Yes if you like the others I'm sure you will like it, it has more citrus and prominent ginger and less of the dry spices. It is very hard to dislike I think, there is nothing really 'challenging' about it. One weakness though is longevity - I get 3 hours tops.

I would say that you would not necessarily like Declaration Cologne and the original or Essence. I have Essence and Cologne, and to me they are very different. Essence is Bitter Orange, sweaty Spices, and medicinal/phenolic smelling Woody notes. Cologne is Bergamot, sharp, tart Spices and bone dry, earthy Woody notes. Imagine the sensation of your mouth puckering and becoming dry because you ate something tart. Dry and Tart are the key words.

I must be lucky, I get 5-6 hours out of Cologne.

If you read my intro, you will see that I like the regular and essence VERY much ;-)

This pretty much sums it up nicely. Swap in a much more wearable ginger for the "BO-like" cumin in the regular while shortening the longevity and you pretty much have an approximation of Cologne's general profile. I prefer it, as I couldn't take the cumin in regular Declaration, but did not think well enough of Cologne to buy a bottle. Certainly sniff-worthy though, IMO.
