Default Whats a good cologne for the outdoors: camping, fishing, etc

Trees all around, you set up your tent and make a fire, theres a lake nearby, you decide to fish - what cologne are you wearing? And the weather is warmer than cooler. I'm asking because i need a good cologne for this type of situation.

Aventus, I'd say has a fresh dirty/dark green/earthy vibe with some wood in there....so it'd make sense to me...along with a little smokiness that would seem to pair up well with a fire.

    and

Green Irish Tweed, not really a Creed fan boy but I have these two in my collection and I think they'd be perfect.

Parfum d’Habit - It is a very outdoorsy and forestry earthy green scent.

Profumum Thundra and Ichnusa...and in the same situation when the weather is cooler, SL Fille en Aiguilles.

Two immediately coming to my mind, a refined one, Sisley's Eau de Campaigne, and a bolder one, Aqua Di Selva.

Ditto on the Off. However there are any number of weaker DEET concentration frags out there which may not be as harsh. I remember some Cutter's formulations from the old days that were 100%, whereas many today are down around 7.5% and work just fine if applied liberally.

I've never been one to wear fragrances in the backcountry, but Dsquared He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood seems fitting. It's woody, rugged and pretty darn manly, which seems appropriate in rugged terrain. Read up on it, it was created to capture the essence of the rocky mountains.

I dont necessarily want to smell like the outdoors when I'm outdoors, which is why I dont do vetivers in these situations.

With the number of sprays that some of you fellas use it probably works just as well as Off All kidding aside I don't think it's logical to be using cologne at the same time as Off since that smell will just overpower whatever it is you're wearing.

Taking a cologne camping is kind of strange, like bringing a laptop/electronics or shaving.. you are going camping to get away from civilization and be in the rugged outdoors, it would be silly to wear cologne while camping imo.

Bathe in the lake, chop some wood, sit by the campfire and smell like a real man. Maybe it's just a Canadian thing...

If you truly wish to wear a fragrance in the great outdoors then perhaps an evergreen scent might be your first choice:Good Fir by Krigler, Eau de Merveilles by Hermes, Original Pino Silvestre by Silvestre all have the forest notes that should compliment your camping experience. I wonder if a fragrance will turn you into a mosquito beacon, however.

what you need is a good vetyver. I would go with Chanel Sycomore or Encre Noire. Another great option would be sel de vetiver.

Don't know about the fishing-part, as I believe cologne and fish don't mix that well. However, outdoor-style and campfire evoke scents like Mazzolari Mazzolari and the robust/rugged Knize Ten. Hemingway-style! Apart from that I think that Terre d'Hermès in either concentration, but probably more the EdT, would work - just like always.
PS: Evening - campfire - Fumerie Turque or something like Mazzolari Lui. Put your arm around your girl and let your soul fly.

Your body odor mixing with Off! seems appropriate.

However, if you insist on a fragrance, try:

Rocky Mountain Wood is an excellent outdoors fragrance though it's a bit too woody for my taste.
Green Irish Tweed is my outside natural fragrance (anything with lake, pond, river, water I figure this smells like the flora around it so should be good)

One Man Show by Bogart. This thing is an old-school "green" powerhouse and I feel that it belongs with the outdoors. I see some have mentioned insect repelant but this thing is a bear repelant. Also it's not a "Thick" scent so it wont choke you if its warm & humid.

Part of the appeal of the outdoors is the smells - enjoy those, don't compete with them!

I say go with your own natural musk, and how your sweat and the breeze plays off of it.

I really love different fragrances produced by nature. In everyday life, if your trying to combat body odor, polluted air, uplift your senses, or just trying to influence normalcy, spray away. However, IMO, if your out in nature, take it as it comes...otherwise your the one polluting the air of others trying to smell what's around them. Scent is still an instinct of mine that shouldn't be fu**ed with in certain situations. This is one of my "fragrance boundaries". I believe wearing a fragrance into "wilderness" is tacky (unless your car camping).
