    Default Best apple based cologne?

Hi, I'm 25 yrs, male. I've been sampling various cologne just to find my signature cologne for summer.

I figured out my signature scent should be apple based.

I tried Lacoste Style In Play recently and I really hated its top note which I think has cheapily cheap cheap synthetic apple smell.

But about an hour later, tumultuous top note is gone and the remain was really cool Apple + Pine fresh kinda smell. And I really liked it because it didn't smell synthetic at all, as a matter of fact, it was very energetic.

I know how crappy Lacoste fragrances are but Style in Play was exceptional

The only drawback is.. I don't think this cologne has a good projection

Is there any good/better apple based fresh cologne for summer? if you know any, please let me know.

you can get a glimpse of what my taste likes by reading my opinions on what I 've tested below

Chanel Allure Edition Blanche - Very unique indeed. Lemony cream. makes me wanna drink lemony milk. But I don't understand people saying how this scent can be used during summer. It's a bit heavy

Creed GIT - reminds me of 30 years old riding a bicycle, climbing rocks. (no offense intended, I'm under 30 so..) I'm still too young for this scent.

Guerlain Pour Homme - It does smell like mojito. I agree but It's just not my smell. hated strong cedar smell.

Lacoste Essential - Synthetic grass smell. NEXT

Chanel Allure Pour Homme - Okay.. I guess. better than Blanche for summer but I feel this one has a generic smell

Creed Silver Mountain Water - The Worst Cologne Ever created.

Again, I'm looking for APPLE based natural(not synthetic.. maybe just a lil bit)fresh scent.

I'm a big fan of Burberry for Men, which on me has a prominent apple note undercut by a cool mint. If you spray lightly it'd work great for summer, IMO.

Check out Brooksfield Men by Brooksfield, not sure if synthetic or natural, but definitely has apple in it.

Tough to find though (at a good price)........

There are many great scents out there to chose from. Some are better quality than others, so I've divided my response to you accordingly.

If you are on a budget and don't want to spend much, the DKNY apple scents will do. They are not everyone's cup of tea so some readers will tell you they are not worth the dosh. I tend to agree with them but the scent is apple in both the green and red versions and are on a par with the quality of Lacoste.

If you are OK with dosh and can drop some bucks, the apple note in Aventus really is unique. Here in England we have an area called Essex. They have a certain variety of apples known as Essex Own, because they only grow in this area. They are very fruity apples and I think Aventus has that note of apple in it. Superb scent, good quality and of the highest standard. Be careful of cheap places trying to sell it for less as you may end up with old stock.

One final word of advice I would give you is not to judge any scent straight away. Give it time to stay on your skin and to settle down. Try a scent on with fresh clothes and after a shower - you don't want any other colognes/scents to mix with your scent in testing! And most importantly of all, don't spray more than a couple of squirts of any fragrance as you may spoil the notes in it!! This is especially the case with Silver Mountain Water, although there are better things out there to try.

Creed SMW worst ... That's my favorite Creed.

Anyways, Good apple notes for me include Hermes Jardin sur le Toit and Byredo Pulp.

Toit being somewhat affordable and Pulp being a little more pricey. Both are good if you like fruity, and both I get a good strong apple note.

Baldinini Man is a spicy apple scent. Not easy to find in the US. Beauty Encounter was the only place I could find it when I purchased it.

If you consider GIT too old for you, then that will obviously limit the possibilities.

One of my favorite "apple" scents is Cereus #4. Don't want to go too heavy with it, though.

I'm not sure how you could get apple out of GIT. Aventus has a nice pineapple note, but no apple.

As others mentioned, Boss Bottled/#6 is great and features apple prominently. The newer Perry Ellis For Men also has a big apple accord, if I remember correctly.

If you're ok with a slightly more challenging price tag, you might want to check Calè Assolo.

On the contrary, the Apple note is present in Aventus. It's even stated in the note breakdown.

Carlos Santana for Men is really a nice scent with apples and vanilla. But really, I do think Lacoste Style in Play did a great job on apples with that scent. Kenneth Cole Reaction might be worth a sniff as well, but it seems to have a lot of synthetic watermelon in it as well.

Of course MI is known for it's melon note, however, I detect some apple in there.
The other topics- I have to disagree and say that Silver Mountain Water is awesome and that GIT is appropriate for any age

+1 Carlos Santana - this is like apple cinnamon pie, kind of. With some lavender and vanilla, too. Very nice and cheap.
    +1 Aventus

Also, check out 7 by Loewe. It's apple + incense, mostly, along with some light florals. It's actually pretty heavy on the incense, but the more I wear it the more I do notice apple from top to bottom. At times it smells kind of like an apple cider.

There's some apple in The One Gentleman, too. Not a ton, but some. It's a good scent anyhow, and worth a sniff at least.
