    - Riverside Drive by Bond No.9 with 9 free bon bon of Wall Street, Chinatown, Hamptons, and Chelsea flowers (Which I think it would be too faminine on any male)

    - Kiehl's Original Musk Shower Gel & Lotion

    - White Musk for Men by Bodyshop

    - Tobacco & White Musk Single Note Perfume Oil Roll-ons by KarmaKamet which is a local brand in Thailand. There are so many single note perfume available in this shop, such as Fig, Hay, Lavender, Rose, Sandalwood, Amber, etc. There is also a scent of Black Coffee that smells almost like roasted coffee beans.

Went to Selfridges Manchester today, realised they had a major overhaul of their perfumery department. Couldn't resist sniffing around and eventually settled between this and Coromandel. Decided to get this in 50ml, and the lady was nice enough to throw in a 9ml sample of CdG Amazinggreen and sample vials of Creed Royal Oud

I was tempted to go back to the Floris sale and get a bottle of Santal, but it's sold out now. Still, a week when I get No 89, Sartorial and Givenchy Gentleman all at bargain prices is a good week

Of course, not all designer brands are created equal - there's a big difference in the way fragrance is handled between brands like Dior, Chanel (maybe more a perfume house that sells clothing?), Comme de Garçons, and YSL and others like Calvin Klein, Issey Miyake, and Juicy Couture.

It just sounds completely wrong to me when people describe Guerlain as a designer brand. It's really the opposite of a designer brand. The term is so often taken to mean anything that's not niche.

It is indeed impressive! It starts with a fruity-woody vibe hiding some mysteriousness in the background. Later on, this mystery is revealed with a symphony of spicy, peppery, oudy, smoky, woody, resinous, semi-sweet-woody aroma. It's enchanting! As the whole masterpiece dies down, you get this sweet-woody-cedary-ambery scent. It's addicting. Longevity is amazing!

Now, if I can just get the discontinued Eau de Cologne, then I can complete the trifecta (EdC, PdT and parfum) of the formulations that I enjoy.

    chanel coromandel 75ml

picked this up from my chanel boutique's friends, last one for the time being. have also tried the brand new (so secretive they have a 'dedicated' sales assistant with the key to it and the bottle is nameless) coco noir! i think it will be a big hit commercially speaking, it's very safe and mainstream. a very aldehydic opening, with lots of grapefruit, jasmine, a faint rose, patchouli, musk, also, i don't know why but even though it's not listed, i smell peach, and quite a bit too. it reminds me a bit of coco mademoiselle but not as thick and powdery. i don't know why they've called it noir, have no idea, they should've called it pink.

    A large decant of:

    2 by Comme des Garcons

I sort of hated this when I first smelled it (I suspect it has a lot of hedione in it, which can sometimes give me a headache), but it's sort of grown on me now and I'm enjoying this in the sweltering heat, lightly applied of course. It shares, IMO, a lot with Nu by YSL, just slightly more...brittle. In a good way. I would love to own the Body Cream, but it's so hard to find it.
