    Default Devin or Havana?

OK. . .my wallet is jumping, and it's jumping toward another Aramis frag. . .

Don't like New West. So-so on Aramis. Like Tuscany. Have 900.

So, is it gonna be: Devin or Havana?

    Love the Yatagan, btw. Sue-perb.

I recently used this version of Havana. Top notes were great. They reminded me of Tiffany For Men without the powder. When it dries down it leaves a non alcoholic bloody mary type smell. Although spicy there is some sweet in there which turned me off.

I love tobacco and I love spice but Havana just didn't do it for me.

I find that Havana and Devin share a similar underlying Aramis house accord, along with Aramis, 900 and JHL (not so much New West). What distinguishes their personalities for me is that Havana has a distinctive boozy tobacco note, and Devin is greener, with a distinct cinnamon note (but not as pronounced as JHL).

So it depends on which is more appealing to you. I love them both and wouldn't say one is clearly better.
Just because it happened to you doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

I used to wear JHL all the time. It's the only frag my self-proclaimed Redneck Dad will wear. It's a great scent, but way too heavy for the heat/humidity of Nawlins'.

I don't have a "green fragrance" in my collection, so maybe Devin is the way to go. . .???

Havana would be my choice easily and I love it, but since you dislike New West which has some of its characteristics in its base, maybe Devin will be more to your taste.

Devin is a bitter green frag where as Havana is a herbal tobacco scent. I would go with Havana.

Interesting that people see Devin as very green (in the reviews too), I perceive it more as kinda orange which then turns into leather.

In the minority here, but I'd go for Devin.

Devin, Havana and the original are the jewels in Aramis' crown, IMO. All in all I think it's a great little house.
Life's a bitch. If it were a slut it'd be easy.

I'm the happy owner of both of them, but I rarely wear Havana. Devin, on the other hand, I wear quite frequently. I'd say go with Devin now, and then pick up Havana later. I agree that Aramis is a very fine brand, and one of the best lines of mainstream men's fragrances.

Whoa! Devin picked up some love overnight. Looking at the notes, I'm probably gonna go with Devin.

I'm a little worried about those herbal tobacco notes here in sweaty Nawlins'.

Thanks for all the good advice!
