Default Sleeper Hits of House ...

Which house is rarely if ever discussed but has put out some fabulous fragances?

    I nominate Gianfranco Ferre.

Ferre, Ferre 20, GFF, and the eponymous scent are all lush, rich, well-blended and well-crafted, and accessibly sold. Ferre's scents are reminiscent of the vintage perfumes I most love.

Fendi...original Fendi, Asja, Fendi Huomo. The original boasts one of the great print ads and a dry, quiet woodsy scent from the eighties!!

    I never met a Balmain I didn't like, either.

Hear, hear knit at knight, Balmain is the best vintage I've yet experienced, and a few haven't been ruined by reformulations. Are Ivoire and Miss Balmain in current formulation still good? Have only tried vintage in those. Are Monsieur Balmain and Balmain de Balmain in current worth getting?

wildroses, I so want to try all kinds of Fendi, but Theorema, Fendi by Fendi, and Asja seem quite sought after. Love Asja's and Theorema's bottle designs.

For the moment Ivoire is Ok but- stock up if you like it now before the prices go up. They have a new fella running the show and they announced they are re-releasing Ivoire in a modern formula (per their ad copy) but still under the name Ivoire.

My Balmain de Balmain EDT (new bottle) is nice- I'm sure vintage is probably better.

Re: Fendi--- Fendi is like a car manufacturer. They discontinue one before they release another. It's a very annoying practice and sure drives the prices up.

    Grossmith.

There is a certain flare of uniqueness and quality that is exuded from their line.

I agree that Fendi had some great stuff. But it is not talked about because after the purchase by LVMH (them of Sephora and Guerlain reformulations) they were all killed. Now we have Fan of Fendi, of which the less is said the better.

Santa Maria de Novella...has some very grand but under appreciated scents: Peau d'Espagne, Ginestra, SMN (archetypal cologne)
    Mellograno, and Marescialla.

My skin loves almost every Caron I wear, especially Belodgia, Poivre, Tabac Blond (parfum) and theEDTs Pour un Homme and 3eme Homme.
You are never too old nor too fat to be elegant and pleasantly fragrant!

Madini oils are great & cheap to buy (but nice quality), Profumum is highest quality Italian fragrance & many lovely scents-something for every taste. Mazzolari, another high quality Italian maker of several wonderful scents.(especially-Vetiver). And French maker Parfumerie Generale has many quirky, high quality items from which to choose. I also like many of the Eau D'Italie offerings.

I love Caron! The only full bottle I have is Nocturnes Edt, but I have samples of others.
