You seem to like fresher, more modern stuff. One niche brand you could look into is Comme des Garcons (CDG), which are known for their modern synthetic style. Stuff like the Odeur, vetiveru, inoki, etc. Diptyque also tends to be on the light side, but without the sporty notes you seem to like (eg Vetyvero, Eau Lente, etc.). Similarly, the hermes private line (Hermessence) is light and fresh, though again without sportiness. You can also check Francis Kurkdjian APOM and Aqua Universalis, two very fresh, but rather persistent, musks. I am not a fan of sport scents, but one niche scent that carries these fresh sporty notes to their extreme consequences is Tirrenico by i profumi del forte, which will smell either heavenly or evil, depending on taste.
If you live in Dallas, you should check your local Barney's - they typically carry many niche brands, including CDG, Diptyque, and many others, like Malle and Lutens. Even if Malle and Lutens are not in your style, it could be worth smelling them, to understand different styles. I would also bet that Dallas has a Hermes boutique (for the Hermessences) and a Chanel boutique (for the Chanel exclusifs: freshest is Sycomore). Kurkdjian is carried by Neiman Marcus.
