    Default Perris Monte Carlo

Here's a link to First in Fragrance, which is the only place I've seen these for sale online:

    http://www.ausliebezumduft.de/perris...m_store=german

Has anyone else seen these or tried them?

The have been on the market here in Saudi Arabia for 4-5 months. I've ended up acquiring the entire line since then. A huge factor is that their price is about $50 per bottle here as opposed to 125Ç online.

I strongly suspect that Perris has Arab ownership or major investment. I get the impression that the primary market for these frags is the Middle East, and the fragrances are made in a style that reminds me of products made by the Arabian houses.

They are very strong. One spray of any of them lasts all day and all night and throws off a significant amount of sillage. The bottles are nice, heavy and covered with golden colored geometric designs recalling Islamic art.

I like all of them. They smell good to me, rather simple and basically linear, but satisfying. They do develop a bit over time (a very long time), becoming more woody and rounded, and a bit sweeter. They all represent their names rather literally, with musk smelling like musk, amber like amber, patchouli like patchouli, etc. Nothing very creative, complex, or innovative, just good, solid, examples of their kinds. Definitely no surprises here. I don't know if they're worth 125Ç, but they are really good for $50!

The two oud based frags are enjoyable, with Oud Imperial being dry and earthy, mainly oud mixed with patchouli and dry woods, and Bois d'Oud being much more woody and spicy, with more sweetness.

I noticed them on the firstinfragrance website as well. I've to be honest, on the one hand I'm very intrigued to test them but I find their packagings to be off-putting for their stereotyped (and sort of decadent) representation of luxury. Mone Carlo, Saint Tropez, Forte Dei Marmi...the now declined summer capitals of luxury.

They do carry a lot of brands that other online retailers don't which is why I love that place.

I got a couple of samples yesterday. I tried Bois d'oud this morning and liked it. Quite simple and straightforward, nothing extraordinary but very wearable. I am a sucker of Oud (wow 50 dollars?) I'll wait and see if the Bois D'oud develops into something interesting...

Glad to see a thread about this, was about to start one myself.
Noggs, your description is spot on, could not have said it better myself.
I got oud imperial and Bois d oud for $75 each.
Oud Imperial is a master class, a respectable oud creation akin to some of Montales

it's an Italian brand originally meant to the Middle East market, seen the success locally has been made widely available, good stuff at a reasonable price!

To your knowledge,is its availability still confined to the Middle East and the European continent?

I haven't seen these in person anywhere outside the Gulf region. But if you do a search you'll find at least some of them for sale online. I believe Henri Bendel and Min carry Perris.

I haven't yet seen the new Taif Rose here, but it has been a while since I last visited the shop where I bought the others.

I'm still shocked by the prices asked for these elsewhere. $180 at Min. That's over three times what they cost here.

    They're readily available here.

I concur that they are very very very reminiscent of Montale.

    So if thats your thing....

They are available at the SF Neiman Marcus, though they don't appear to be on the web site.

I was given a sample of Oud Imperial, which I wore a few times. The saffron in the opening is not to my taste, and I was not impressed with the longevity. Maybe I need to apply more of it, but given that the saffron makes my eyes water, that's not an appealing idea.

I don't remember the price, I think they quoted me $125. I am sure it was less than $180, but more than $50.

I am guessing u will place an order for the entire line by this weekend
I tried 2 from the line and its very nice , I bought Oud Imperial earlier this year for about 80 dollars, they are widely available in the GCC at very good prices as Noggs mentioned.
Have not tried the Taif one, but Taif Roses tend to be powdery and feminine, so I am not missing much.

MIN is selling them for 180 lol .

Yes, the member states are the Gulf Arab countries - Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Oman.

BTW, none of our local dealers have Taif Rose, and from what the owners/managers have told me, I gather that they won't be getting it. Could be a supply or distribution problem or perhaps the others in the line didn't sell well.
